| 摘 要： | 洋务学堂是在旧中国遭受了两次鸦片战争后产生发展起来的,它的主观目的是造就洋务人才挽救清王朝的政治危机,但与中国传统学校相比洋务学堂具有明显的时代进步性,它对中国工业、军事和教育等领域走向近代化发挥了重要作用.

On the Schools of Foreign Affairs in the Late Qing Dynasty |

| Abstract: | the school of foreign affairs came into being and gradually developed after the two Opium Wars which were disastrous to China. The aim was to cultivate people of talents on foreign affairs and to save the Qing Dynasty from the political crisis. Compared with the traditional schools in China the schools of foreign affairs were characterized by epochal advancement, which played an essential role in promoting various fields including industry, military affairs and education in China to advance towards modernization. |
