| 摘 要： | 语言反映文化，要完全理解一个国家的历史和文化背景，以及这个民族的生活方式和思维方法，对其语言的研究就必不可少。文章从政治、经济、科技和军事四个方面分析了英语新词与美国文化的关系，揭示了美国社会现象形成的原因。文章指出美国的文化变迁导致了新词的产生，产生的新词也让人们对美国文化有了更深刻、更全面的了解。

| Abstract: | Language reflects culture, so it is necessary to study its language if one expects to fully appreciate one country＇ s historical and cultural background and the people＇ s ways of life and thinking. This article analyzes the relationship between English coinages and American culture from four aspects, i.e. politics, economy, military affairs and science and technology which reveals the social situation of America and the reasons of its formation. In the meantime, it points out that the cultural changes of the United States lead to the emergence of the coinages which could make people better understand American culture. |
