| 摘 要： | 早期主日学校运动是英国中产阶级知识精英为解决童工教育问题所做出的一种尝试,有着特定的社会背景和观念源起。在工人阶层的广泛参与下,到19世纪中期,多达半数以上的英国儿童在主日学校中注册学习。主日学校既是工人子弟提高识字水平、接受宗教教育的场所,也是其文化生活的重要社会纽带。
