| 摘 要： | 统计工作意义重大,各项统计数据是图书馆决策、规划、管理、改进工作的前提,是图书馆事业证明社会价值、树立社会形象、争取政策支持、进行宏观调控的基础。文章强调了统计工作的重要性,介绍了南山图书馆和深圳公共图书馆界的统计工作实践,以实例彰显了统计工作的巨大价值。同时也指出了我国公共图书馆界统计工作中存在的一些问题,如统计工作各自为政、基层图书馆统计欠缺、统计体系不健全、统计分析缺乏、统计意识淡薄等等,对公共图书馆该如何进行统计工作进行了探讨,呼吁图书馆界重视统计问题,建议公共图书馆统计工作应该标准化、规范化、常规化,并重视基层图书馆的统计。
