| 摘 要： | 作为创新的一种 ,科技新概念对区域的发展有着与技术的创新同等重要的作用。科技新概念从提出到逐渐为大多数人所接受、认识有一个扩散过程已经成为定论。但是它们在空间上是怎样由中心逐渐向外扩散的 ,其空间扩散受距离的影响是否类似于新技术的空间扩散 ,除距离外还与什么区域特征有关 ,这些问题还没有明确答案。本文以“可持续发展”为例 ,对科学概念的空间扩散作了研究 ,从而找出科技新概念空间扩散的一些规律以及影响因素

On the spatial diffusion
of new concepts in science --Taking the concept of sustainable development as an example |

| Abstract: | It is widely known that the key to a region's social development lies in whether it can readily accept a new scientific concept of a new technology. It has become a well-established conclusion that there is a transporting process between the contrivance of a new S&T concept and its gradual acceptance and final recognition by the majority of the populace. Yet, how does a new concept spread itself far and wide from its source in space or whether its spatial diffusion itself shares something in common with that of new technology such as the influence of the distance between the origin and a given site? Apart from the distance, is there other regional characteristics being responsible for it? So far, we cannot have an exact answer for any of these questions. Taking sustainable development as an example, this article makes an explorative research on the spatial diffusion of S&T concepts and hence develops several laws and influencing factors in the coures of the diffusion. By analyzing data sampled from 66 Chinese S&T journals, the article discovers: 1) Just like that in the realm of technology, distance influences the spatial diffusion of new concepts; 2) The geographic nature of a region chooses its own kind of knowledge, the impact on the diffusion of new concepts or knowledge spillover; and 3) As a new S&T concept, sustainable development is welcomed in regional ecotone but ignored in southeast China. |
