摘    要:本文试图从现代文学的内在逻辑,来说明解释现实主义和现代主义文学在现代中国的命运走向。本文认为,由于五四前后科学世界观迅速取代了传统的天理世界观,中国知识分子并没有深刻地感受到西方人的幻灭感和迷失感,因此现代主义在现代中国无法取得长足的发展;相反,由于现实主义的理论预设中存在着“客观观察”和“主观建构”之间的内在矛盾,使它能够走上与其在西方社会中的发展所不同的方向,最终成为现代中国的主导性文学形式。

Abstract:The present article attempts to explain the fate of modern Chinese realist and modernist literature in terms of the inner logic of modern literature.This article holds that the reason why modernism did not enjoy a full-blown development in modern China is that the scientific world-view has rapidly replaced the traditional Chinese worldview of heavenly principles and that as a result Chinese intellectuals didn't experience the profound disillusionment and the sense of lost as felt by modern Westerners.On the other hand,the inner conflicts between objective observation and subjective construction in its theoretical assumptions helped realism develop into the dominant literary form in modern China,a direction different from that in Western societies.
