| 摘 要： | 象征是寓言体小说《蝇王》的主要写作手法。具有象征意义的景物和情节对人物思想和作品主题的表达起了很大作用。本文着重分析了小说中有着复杂以至矛盾意义的"火"及相关情节的涵义和作用。《蝇王》中的"火"深化了各主要人物的思想内涵,揭示了他们之间的对立,从而展示了野蛮与文明的对抗和无知与真理的冲突,并通过这些矛盾揭示了小说的主题思想,体现了《蝇王》的语言和哲理统一性。

The Confrontation between Savagery and Civilization and the Opposition between Ignorance and Truth: on the Symbols and Theme of Lord of the Flies |

| Abstract: | Lord of the Flies is rich in symbols. The symbolic plots help to reveal the meanings of its characters and the theme of the work. The paradoxical fire and the related plots in the novel help to display the conflict among the characters and to expose the confrontation between savagery and civilization and the opposition between ignorance and truth, producing thematic clarity. The fire gives Lord of the Flies linguistic as well as philosophical unity. |
