论汉英翻译课与英语写作课相结合之优势

摘    要:汉英翻译课与英语写作课都是英语专业高年级的必修课。尽管两门课的侧重点有所不同,但最终目标基本相同,都是培养学生英语写作能力,提高英语写作水平,以满足今后继续深造和工作实践的需要。汉英翻译课要培养的英语表达能力与英语写作课要培养的写作能力是一致的,关系十分密切,彼此相互促进。把两门课程合二为一,更能体现其优势。优势一,有利于学生接受更系统的翻译与写作训练;优势二,有利于提高学生汉英翻译能力;优势三,有利于提高教师的自身素质和教学能力。本文从提出汉英翻译课与英语写作课相结合的理论依据入手,分析汉英翻译课与英语写作课相结合的优势,并提出相关教材开发的建议,以期达到提高学生翻译写作水平。

Abstract:Both Chinese-English translation and English writing are compulsory courses for English majors and although each course has a slightly different focus their goals are nearly the same: to help students understand written English better and to improve their ability to write English so that they can meet their future needs for the further study or work.The training methods for C-E-translation and English writing are almost the same and they are interrelated and complimentary to each other.Integrating the two courses will provide three advantages: 1) It will help students get systematic training in both translation and writing;2) It will help students to improve their translating ability in C-E translation and;3) It will help teachers improve their teaching abilities.This paper,based on the theories of experts,analyzes the advantages of integrating the two courses: C-E translation and English writing.It then goes on to offer suggestions on the design of a new course with the hope that it will help students improve their translational writing ability.
