| Abstract: | From the perspective of literary stylistics, the short story Rope, with its focus on marriage life,will be analyzed based on four stylistic categories suggested by Leech and Short： lexical categories, grammatical categories, figures of speech and context and cohesion to explore how the writer achieves special artistic effect through certain choice of words. |
