论基于语料库的英语同义词教学

摘    要:本项研究旨在探讨英语作为外语的背景下专业英语的词汇教学,主要是利用语料库,运用语境共现检索工具研究检索行中关键词或检索词的词语搭配进行同义词教学。研究所用的语料选自国际英语语料库的英国分语料库(ICE-GB),语境共现检索工具使用的是与ICE-GB配套的ICECUP检索工具。笔者认为,基于语料库的归纳式的词汇教学是一种行之有效的方法,可以弥补传统演绎法的不足,有助于激发学生的学习兴趣,培养学生创造性思维的能力和解决问题的能力。

Abstract:This corpus-based study attempts to discuss the teaching of vocabulary to the English majors in the EFL context.It mainly analyses how the English corpora and the concordancing program can be used in the teaching of synonyms through the examination of the collocations of the key words observed in the concordancing lines.The data for this study is extracted from the ICE-GB corpus of the International Corpus of English.The corpus analysis tool is ICECUP,a program which comes with the ICE-GB corpus.It is argued that the corpus-based inductive approach to vocabulary teaching is both appropriate and effective.The approach can offset the perceived weaknesses of the traditional deductive,rule-driven methods.It is also conducive to the stimulation of students' learning interest and the cultivation of creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
