| 摘 要： | J.D.塞林格的小说《麦田里的守望者》是美国文学中最具争议性的一部小说，被美国文学界公认为美国文学中的“现代经典”之一。该小说通过讲述霍尔顿离开潘西中学后在纽约的游荡经历，深刻地揭示了现代社会中人的心灵的极度孤独。本文着重从美国社会历史背景、塞林格的心路成长历程等几个方面来探讨其作品孤独主题的成因。

| Abstract: | The novel＂The Catcher in the Rye＂by J. D. Salinger, the most controversial one in American literature, is generally recognized as one of the＂modern classics＂in American literature by American literary circle. Through narrating Holden＇s experi-ences in New York City in the days following his expulsion from Pencey Prep, this novel profoundly reveals the extreme loneliness of people＇s souls in modern society. This paper focuses on the o-rigin of the loneliness motif of the novel from such aspects as American social and historical background, Salinger＇s journey of spiritual growth, etc. |
