| Abstract: | After the turbulence in the Title of Crown of Jingkang, the ruling clique of the North Song Dynasty and northern China migrators emigrated southwards in the reaches of the Yangtze River. The effects of those historical events can be clearly traced from the different pronunciations between written words and colloquialisms in the present day middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. |
