摘    要:20世纪是中西绘画“碰撞”最为激烈的时代。面对西洋绘画的挑战,“中国画向何处去”成了首当其冲的问题,是融合中西,另辟蹊径?还是全盘西化,脱胎换骨?或是固守传统,借古开今?人们不仅在实践中作了不同的抉择,在理论上也争论不休,几乎贯穿整个20世纪。

Abstract:The 20th century was an age when Chinese paintings came into the most fierce conflict with Western ones. Faced with increasing challenge of Western paintings, the first question which Chinese paintings had to answer was "In which direction will Chinese paintings be orientated?". In other words, such possible ways were totally open to Chinese paintings as whether to pave a new way by merging bob Chinese and Western styles or to become entirely westernized by thoroughly remolding themselves or to establish a new tradition on the basis of the old by adhering to their tradition. Almost throughout the 20th century, people made different choices in practice and came into fierce frequent disputes in the field of theory.
