| 摘 要： | 在我国人口史上,关于2800年前的宣王料民,学者虽提出过种种推测,却一直没有经得起推敲的说明。它不是旧制度的复兴,不是对逃人的缉捕,更不是解放奴隶。它透露出来的是西周的人口统计方法,由于人口数量在当时是国家的重要机密,通过间接的方法进行人口调查,在古代世界各国这是相当普遍的人口统计方法。

| Abstract: | In the history of population in our country, scholars offered varieties of suppositions concerning Liaomin the King of Xuan 2800 years ago, but none of them is well acceptable. The case of the King of Xuan revealed no revival of the old rule, nor chase after escaped criminals, nor emancipation of surfs but the statistic means of population in the West Zhou Dynasty.
