| 摘 要： | 在中国,英语并非人们的日常交际用语,但它对人们日常生活的影响有时甚至会超过作为本族语的汉语。随着英语学习不断异化,越来越多的人感受到了它不可承受的沉重,许多专家学者也开始呼吁中国的英语教学回归理性。毫无疑问,中国需要英语,但是,这并不意味着所有中国人都必须学英语,毕竟,本族语和外语有着巨大的功能上的差异。即便是学同一门外语,不同的学习者所要达到的要求也是千差万别的,因为每个人对外语的需求是不同的。此外,人们在进行语言交际时会根据需要选择不同的交际方式,现代通讯技术的发展也赋予了人们越来越多的选择。如果我们能从这些看似平常的角度审视一下中国英语教学,我们就不难发现中国英语教学的真正出路在于英语学习的多样性和可选择性。

| Abstract: | English is just a foreign language in China,but its influence upon Chinese people's daily life is so great that sometimes it even surpasses that of the native language-Chinese.Undoubtedly,China needs English,but it does not follow that every Chinese citizen must learn English.Even when people have to learn it,they learn for different purposes and to achieve different proficiencies.In addition,English and Chinese perform considerably different functions in people's daily life in China.Moreover,people choose different communication forms according to different communication needs.With the development of communication technology,more and more options are available for people to choose from.Taking all these into consideration,we need to give a second thought to the current policy and practices in the field of foreign language teaching and English teaching in particular so that we can set a more rational and appropriate policy and find better ways to improve English teaching in China. |
