| Abstract: | Euphemism,an important way of ideal intercommunication,is a common phenomenon in the process of the development of human language.For it relates to every aspect of human life,various euphemisms have come into being in different social,historic and cultural backgrounds.In this article,three contents of English euphemism-its pragmatic functions,ways of expression and semantic characteristics-are discussed. |
