| 摘 要： | 科学是影响20世纪中国社会文化现代化转型的关键词。本文从认知语言学视角探讨＂科学＂的认知发展历程,结果表明：中国古代亦有科学一词,然而这个词与现代汉语的科学一词并无关联,今天我们所说的科学一词,是假道日本进口而来的新词。尽管如此,现代汉语＂科学＂的义项与西方＂science＂存在着显著的差异,＂科学＂所涵盖的范围比＂science＂要宽泛的多。这些义项的产生源自于国人对西方近代科学的先在预设和美好期待,也是国人借助西方自然科学实现中国社会、思想、文化现代化的必然采取的语言策略。＂科学＂的认知发展折射出20世纪中国人对现代性认识曲折而深入的过程。

| Abstract: | Ke Xue（Science） is one of the keys to the transition of Chinese social and cultural modernization in 20th Century.Based on a close review and examination of its meanings in different historic periods of time,this paper reaches a conclusion that Ke Xue went through a dynamic cognitive process.The usage of the word nowadays could not be traced back to the ancient times,and its meaning is quite different from the one in Western countries.The evolution of its meaning results from Chinese presupposition and expectation of western natural science,which is adopted to assist Chinese to realize their social,ideological and cultural modernization.Thus,its development in the 20th Century cognitively reflects Chinese progressive understanding of modernity. |
