| 摘 要： | "脸"在汉语中属一词多义。对有关"脸"的隐喻和借喻进行分析,可以归纳出"脸"的5种引申义:脸代表人,脸代表人品,脸代表面子,脸代表情感以及脸代表健康状态。其中,"脸代表面子"这一用法最丰富,反映出中国人民重情义、爱面子的传统文化,也体现了语言与文化的密切关系。

| Abstract: | The word "face" in Chinese language belongs to polysemy.A variety of metaphors and metonymies related to "face" have been analyzed in this paper,and five categories of "face" have been found out: the face stands for the person,the face stands for one's personality,the face stands for one's honor,the face is an expressor of emotions and the face stands for one's health condition.Among these five categories,"the face stands for one's honor" demonstrates the most abundant usages,which inflect that Chinese people attach importance to their honor;it also shows the close relationship between language and culture. |
