| 摘 要： | 2014年6月22日，第38届世界遗产委员会会议同意将中国大运河列入《世界遗产名录》。欢欣之余，回想这项遗产，除却一些基本数据，我们对大运河的历史似乎知之甚少，对大运河的感性认识很难具象化。大运河的历史出乎意料但又合乎情理地成了城市记忆的盲点。

| Abstract: | Many people in China went overjoyed on June 22, 2014 after learning the Grand Canal of China was inscribed on the list of World Heritage. The joy marked the successful conclu- sion of an 8-year-long application project and the beginning of further preservation of the world＇s longest manmade river. Examining what we know about the canal, however, many of us may be astonished to learn that, except for a number of ba- sic facts, we may know very little about its history, its people. Professor Gu Xijia with Hangzhou Normal University may provide understanding that can fill the gap of our knowledge. For a long time, Professor Gu has been building up an oral history of boat people that live in the canal network in the south of the Yangtze River Delta. |
