| 摘 要： | 在清末新旧教育更替的特定阶段，判定某所新式学堂是否具有高等教育性质不能仅以其名称为标准，更应考察其不同办学层次间的过渡性与继承性；创设于1902年的顺天府学堂具有某些高等教育性质，它与顺天高等学堂一脉相连，是今日河北师范大学的最早源头。顺天府学堂（顺天高等学堂）培养了一批杰出人才，在区域中等与高等教育史上具有重要历史地位与影响。

| Abstract: | During the given period in the late Qing Dynasty when the old education was giving way to the new,the assessment of a college should not based on its name but on its nature.The Shuntian School founded in 1902 was actually a college in its own right and therefore should be regarded as predecessor of Shuntian College which is the origin of HNU.Shuntian School and Shuntian Co llege cultivated a lot of outstanding talents and were historically significaut in local secondary education and higher education. |
