| Abstract: | The tombs of Duan Boyang and his wife were excavated in the Oriental Mechanical Factory at east end of Xi＇an in 1956. The epitaph recorded his promotion of office ranks during the eunuch Duan＇s life. Through these records of Duan＇s official promotion, the whole path of an ordinary eunuch in Tang Dy- nasty could be know clear. The causes of eunuch＇s marriage and adoption were also analysed in this article. |
