| 摘 要： | 西奥多·德莱塞的《嘉莉妹妹》是对在消费意识影响下的美国城市生活中的种种消费欲望的叙事,体现了消费主义文化特征。小说中的消费欲望叙事体现了德莱塞对社会转型所带来的负面冲击的忧虑、对低层大众的社会关怀以及对社会现代性的思考。

| Abstract: | Theodore Dreiser＇s Sister Carrie is the narration of various consumption desires of American city life affected by con -sumption consciousness , which shows the features of consumerism culture .Through the analyses of the desire narration of con-sumerism in the novel text , it can be found that the urbanization of American society at that time deeply influenced people , resul-ting in the distortion of human body , the losing of individual＇s values, and the reconstruction of identity .The desire narration of consumerism in the novel reflects Dreiser＇s worry about the negative impact brought by social transition , his social care for the lower mass, and his thinking on social modernity . |
