| Abstract: | Implied negations are omnipresent in the English language. Only when we master their implicit word meanings, sentence structures and rhetorical usage can we put them into Chinese properly. This paper discusses the Chinese translation of implied negations in English with reference to certain translation principles, aiming to help English learners understand better the unique characteristics of the linguistic phenomena in English. |
