Abstract:Cooperative Learning, as a teaching strategy for classroom instruction and organization, is used in a wide variety of teaching contexts. In China, researchers and teachers began to pay attention to cooperative learning since the early 1990s. But the teachers have some misunderstanding about it in practice. In order to help teachers to conduct cooperative learning effectively, the article analyzed the general misunderstanding, and discussed the essences of cooperative learning: positive interdependence, individual accountability, social skill, group processing, heterogeneity.
