| 摘 要： | 孔子学院将自己的工作范围定位于对外汉语教学，对语言教学所承担的文化功能认识不足，这一点，导致了孔子学院与相关国外机构的认识上与功能上的错位，同时显示出孔子学院的设计者对语言所具有的交际工具和文化载体的双重功能认识不足。这一定位上的缺陷，将严重制约孔子学院的健康发展。

| Abstract: | The Confucius Institute＇ s primary focus is mainly on the teaching of the Chinese language abroad. However, there seems to an inadequate understanding of the ＂Cultural Element＂ of such a task, for the founders of the Confucius Institute have overlooked the crucial link that language has as both a method of communication and a vessel for cultural exchange. Thus having led to a sort of misunderstanding between the institute and its foreign counterparts. Such a flaw in the orientation will seriously affect the growth and development of the Confucius Institute. |
