| Abstract: | Liang Qichao, well versed in Chinese and western learning and in the learning of both ancient and modem times, held an open view on western learning. He exposed and lashed out at the diehards＇ rejection of western culture, advocated developing China＇s domestic culture and learning by drawing on the strengths of the western civilization and put forward his conception of revamping the national culture. His then advanced ideas had profound and far-reaching social impact. |
