Abstract:Krashen's Monitor Model has enjoyed considerable prominence in second language re- search and teaching.To improve the effect of teaching reading in English major,based on the theory of"input hypothesis",teachers should apply helpful reading skills,make use of proper reading materials, and try to lower the"affective filter".
