| 摘 要： | FirstSearch 联机检索系统, 通过Internet 的WWW 方式面向最终用户开展从文摘索引到全文文献的网上一体化服务。其按次计费、检索结果免费的低价位收费体系等诸多特点, 构成了联机检索服务的一种新模式。这种模式比DIALOG 等传统的联机系统通过情报检索人员为最终用户服务的模式具有更多的优越性, 并代表了当今电子信息时代联机检索服务的发展方向。但是在数据库数量及数据库覆盖的专业面与文献类型以及检索软件的功能等方面, FirstSearch 还远不及DIALOG, 因此要将二者互相取长补短结合使用。

| Abstract: | The OCLC FirstSearch online retrieval system via Internet Web serves end users with various formats including bibliography,abstracts and full texts.Its searching costs are lower than the traditional online systems and its bibliography is free.The FirstSearch service represents a newmode of online searching in the modern information age. At present, the databases and document types supplied by the FirstSearch system are fewer than those by DIALOG.Users had better
choose the suitable sysytem according to specific conditions. |
