| Abstract: | Biometrics, as a practical tool of library collection management, is not easily identifiable in the literature. As a term, it suffers from literature scatter: 52 different subject headings are necessary to access fully the library literature. Additionally, the twofold nature of bibliometrics is oftern obscured by contributors to the field who deal with a single dimension. Understanding of bibliometrics and its location in the library literature are essential to its exploitation as a method of library collection management. |
