| Abstract: | The index takes a significant role in scholarly research and scientific research, and in our daily life as well. The index compilation has gone through a far long history in China. Especially since the Han Dynasty, with the effort of each generation, the index compilation and its theoretical research had gained great achievements. After the foundation of the Chinese Index Association,the study about index has been making new progress. |
