| Abstract: | To improve the quality of sci tech periodicals, it is essential that editors have a strong sense of applying quantitative analyses in their work. The author points out, by means of plane right angle coordinate system, the inter relationships between the important indecators such as the total number of the papers published and the number of papers ever cited by other authors, that the role of impact factor of a journal is something relative and that simply stressing on the significance of impact factor has its limitations. It is therefore suggested that great efforts should be made to increase the number of times or the frequency of journals' citations. |
