Abstract: | Accountants might seek a combination of certification, licensing, or accreditation as part of professional development. A complete accounting subject collection in a library will include resources which accountants can use in pursuing these goals. Accounting association give the examinations which accountants take for certification, licensing, and accreditation. State boards of accountancy regulate licensed accountants. This article presents a strategy librarians can use to build collections which support accountants preparing for examinations. The strategy centers on asking boards of accountancy for requirements, requesting primary accounting associations provide catalogs and bibliographies, and selecting resources offered in associations' principal journals. |
