| Abstract: | ??Examines the impact of the burgeoning information revolution on the development of East Asian language collections in a global context. In particular, discusses the formation of a global collection composed of separate Chinese language collections inAsia, North America and Europe,which are linked together by Internet. Users can browse library catalogs in this global information network electronically. Digital technology and full text document delivery on Internetw ill allow user access to the shared journal literature and other information resources in this global collection regardless of their physical locations. This model can also apply to Japanese andKorean language collections. The author discusses the barriers and problems in building this global collection for Chinese studies. |
