| Abstract: | ??The purpose of this paper is to trace the paradigm shifts in the field of library and information studies.This paper identifies five paradigms in LIS field, such as library as a social institution, system approach, Belkin??sASK approach,Dervin??s sensemaking approach, and hermeneutics. For each paradigm, the author presents its focus and assumptions. Furthermore, the problems and criticisms are exam ined too. |
