| Abstract: | The traditional humanistic spirit of libraries infers to the spirits of admitting, respecting and realizing human beings' value contained in the whole process of the library movement and operation. In the information era, with the dramatic development of the science and technology, humanistic spirit is still the motive force and inside support for the existence and development of modern libraries. It' s essential for modem libraries to carry forward the traditional humanistic spirit in order to meet the requirement of the society, to realize its own value, to carry out its functions, to maintain and improve its social estate and public image. For this purpose, modern libraries call for the transformation from book - oriented to human - oriented on the management level, the amalgamation of scientific spirit and humanistic spirit on the librarianship accomplishment level, and the humanistic solicitude on the service level. |
