| Abstract: | Introduces some famous ranking algorithms used by search engines, namely term frequency/ position weighing algorithm, Direct Hit algorithm, PageRank algorithm and Pay Per Click service. Emphases are placed on specifying the factors influencing all the algorithms, their shortcomings and merits. At last, some simple analysis and comparison are given. |
