| Abstract: | Digital Object Identifier (DOI) system is an infrastructure of digital rights management (DRM). This paper introduces the concept of DOI system and its components, describes the functionality of the system, and analyzes the necessity of tracing its current development. Based on the discussion of the role and usage of DOI in ebook selling, reference linking and DRM, the effects of DOI system on the digital library are reviewed. |
