This paper describes the design and evaluation of a computer-assisted learning program called Link , which was designed to be used by psychology students to review their understanding of correlation. Unlike existing computer-assisted learning programs that were reviewed, Link makes use of data from authentic research studies in psychology and provides learner activities that are specifically designed to address students' misconceptions about correlation. A summative evaluation study of Link involving fifty psychology students was carried out to assess the effect on students' understanding of correlation. It was found that the use of Link significantly contributed to students' general understanding of correlation. However, it was found that students use of paper-based instructional materials could also achieve this. The implication of this research outcome is considered in relation to the design and use of computer-assisted learning applications for statistics in higher education.  相似文献

Student's attitudes towards computers in sixteen to nineteen education   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Over the last two decades there have been numerous studies in a variety of countries examining students' attitudes towards computers, ranging from pre-school to postgraduate levels of education. Despite a plethora of international attitudinal research there has, however, been a conspicuous avoidance of the 16–19 educational setting (i.e. Grades 12–14). From this background the present study examined the attitudes towards computers of a sample of 983 students from nine school sixth-form and college based institutions in South Wales. Although students' attitudes towards IT were found to be influenced by a range of individually and educationally based factors, multivariate analysis showed that attitudes were primarily influenced by the subject area and qualification pathway students were following as well as their access to a home computer. Contrary to previous research, gender was found to only exert a lesser influence on students' attitudes. Furthermore, factors such as the educational institution attended and students' year group were not found to affect attitudes towards computers. Having contextualised these findings within the international work carried out on computer attitudes and use, areas of contention for future research are then discussed.p>  相似文献

由于中西方文化的不同,使得中国学生的英文习作水平在外籍教师看来是“不可思议”的。甚至有的外籍教师在评价中国学生的写作时往往把“不衔接”、“不连贯”当作口头禅。其根本原因就是中国学生的英文写作实际上使用的是汉语写作的思维方式,所以建议英文写作教学应该对英汉语言本质的(逻辑推理和思维方式等)差异实施研究。  相似文献

文章采用问卷法以400名大学生为被试,探讨了大学生学习投入状况以及与社会支持的关系。结果表明:大学生学习投入呈中等水平,存在显著的年级差异;不同学习成绩的大学生的学习投入状况存在显著差异;学习投入与社会支持呈显著正相关,其中活力维度与社会支持中的主观支持维度呈显著正相关。  相似文献

对72名大三学生就学习成绩与学习时间的相关性进行了跟踪研究,结果表明:学习时间与学习成绩从总体上分析无显著相关,但较高的学业成绩必须有一定量的学习时间来做保证;学习时间的有无规律是决定学业成绩的重要因素;大学生学习时间上存在性别差异.  相似文献

Two studies were carried out which investigated students' perceptions of, and reactions to, a tutor's comments on written assignments. The method used was based on the Kelly Construct Repertory Grid technique and is referred to as the Kelly Analysis. Study 1 involved the use of a facilitator who helped the students in carrying out the Kelly Analysis. Study 1 demonstrated that this technique was effective in eliciting both the students' and the tutor's perceptions of the comments, and that an examination of matches and mismatches between the two could be carried out. Study 2 focused on the development of a self-administered Kelly Analysis to remove the need for a facilitator. Students had few problems in using the self-administered Kelly Analysis and, again, an examination of matches and mismatches in perception of comments was feasible and useful. The potential value of open-ended questions in exploring students' perceptions was also investigated. It is suggested that the Kelly Analysis coupled with the use of open-ended questions could provide a valuable tool to tutors and students who wish to explore understanding of comments, and one that might aid in creating more reflective practitioners and students. Two relevant theoretical perspectives are also outlined: schema theory within cognitive psychology, and social constructivist theory especially the role of scaffolding learning.  相似文献

此项研究以台州学院450名英语专业学生的四级考试成绩为研究对象,运用定量研究,经积差法计算和SPSS10统计软件统计分析,调查了英语专业四级考试短文听写成绩与总成绩的关系.结果表明,短文听写成绩与总成绩成一定的正相关.由此提出,有必要加强英语专业学生短文听写的训练,提高学生的综合英语水平,从而提高英语专业四级考试的通过率.  相似文献

学习策略在外语学习中占有重要的地位,而将学习策略与课堂教学融合起来效果如何还是个有待探讨的问题。本文采用准实验法,以自然班为实验对象,对山西师范大学2001级英语专业两个班65名学生进行了为期一年的学习策略分散培训,即在学生完成学习任务的同时对其逐步补充、训练学习策略。研究发现,学习策略的分散训练,不仅能够增强学生的策略使用意识,而且可以提高学生的学习兴趣,有效提高学生英语综合成绩且有明显的延期效果。  相似文献

This article is based on a survey carried out at Imperial College, to understand better needs, problems, advantages/disadvantages and solutions in the use of new technologies in a specific context, such as engineering education. In comparison with other research on this matter, perceptions, benefits and barriers to using computer-assisted learning and information and communication technologies in higher education, the present study reveals something more about the use of educational technologies in scientific subjects: many lecturers believe that technical subjects do appear to benefit greatly from the ability to teach using real-life computer simulations which help with student motivation and understanding. Moreover, the use of computers allows practical experiences and help in data analysis, and often work would be impossible without computers. Nevertheless, the survey results indicate that, although there are many advantages in the use of computers in teaching and learning, there are many difficulties for lecturers in using the new technologies because of logistical problems, such as lack of time, technical support, appropriate software and hardware, etc. There is a need to consider what support can be offered and how, on a national level.  相似文献

There is a worldwide shortage of organs for transplantation. It has been shown that the attitude of healthcare professionals can improve the rates of organ donation, and that educational programs aimed at improving both attitudes and knowledge base of professionals can have positive outcomes. Although there has been research carried out on this topic, there has been none in Ireland. Anatomy dissection can be a stressor to medical students-we investigate the attitudes of Irish students to organ donation and how they change with exposure to anatomy dissection. A questionnaire was administered to first year students in the School of Medicine in University College Dublin, Ireland, three times over a nine-week period at the commencement of classes in an academic year. The attitudes of the students were positive throughout regarding organ donation by a stranger, a family member, or themselves. There was, however, a significant decrease in support for the donation of a family member's organs in a minority of students. Irish students' attitudes to postmortem organ donation are positive and are not changed by exposure to the dissecting room. There is support for the donation of organs, and willingness among students to donate their own organs and support donation by family members.  相似文献

While the use of the telephone has increased as a means of collecting research data in a range of areas, there are few examples of studies where telephone interviews have been conducted to collect qualitative data. The field of educational research is no exception to this. This paper focuses on a study carried out in Higher Education (HE) investigating student withdrawal. It explores the ethics of interviewing by telephone a group of former students; issues that arose in the carrying out of the research, particularly relating to the quality of the data; and the impact of the study’s purpose on its conduct. The paper discusses the value of telephone interviewing to collect qualitative data and offers some practical suggestions for future use.  相似文献

随着基础教育改革的广泛展开,“学生的需要”这个口号被用来作为许多教育改革活动的依据甚至“旗号”。本文就此概念进行了历史的、逻辑的分析,指出学生在成长过程中的需要具有一定的社会性和伦理性,并不能简化为其主观的“我想要”;并在此基础上分析了现时代中国教育理论对“学生需要”的建构过程和建构逻辑。最后,本文将“学生的需要”与“生活世界”、“学生的经验”等概念作了必要的区分,并简要梳理了这些概念之间的关系。  相似文献

人工智能和大数据挖掘技术的快速发展,为精准化教学的有效开展提供了技术支撑。但在实际教学过程中,仍存在缺乏学生学情数据驱动教学的问题,故探索一种教师与计算机合理协同的工作模式意义重大。文章基于"人机协同"理念,以某小学英语写作教学的实际情况为切入点,构建小学英语写作评价指标体系,提出基于人机协同的小学英语写作教学模型,最后开展作文教学实践。研究表明,此模型能够精准定位写作的薄弱点,为教师开展精准化教学和学生个性化补救提供了数据支持,从而促进了小学生英语写作能力的提升。  相似文献
