The International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) initiated the Second International Technology in Education Study (SITES)--A longitudinal large-scale international comparative survey on the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in schools. The goal is to understand how ICTs effect teaching and learning in schools. SITES 2006 was the third module in this program to determine how teachers use ICTs, and to find out how school and education system factors influence teachers' pedagogical orientation. SITES 2006 administered three questionnaires: one for school principals, one for technology coordinators, and one for mathematics and science teachers, around 400 schools in each of 23 education systems. The main study took place during 2005-2007. This paper describes the South African educational context, provides an overview of the South African participation, speculates on South Africa's future participation, and provides a comparative glimpse of the use of ICTs in South African mathematics and science classrooms.  相似文献

The first wave of educational reforms in Macau took place in late 80s and early 90s. In 1991, the first Education Law was approved in Legislative Council. It signified a path leading to more "disciplined" education system. It was then by legislative means through standardization, regulations, implementation of the universal free education, establishment of the "public school net", construction of a "localized" curriculum framework, and the definition of various kinds of teacher education enabled the government to participate in overall educational matters. Among all, curriculum development is a significant component in the arena of educational reform. The localized curriculum was first implementation in 1995 in all government schools with Chinese as a medium of instruction, and was not compulsory in private schools. Macau is now starting a second wave of educational reform, with special attention to the re-construction of the present curriculum. Thus, it is the objective of this study to examine and disclose the discourses and practices of the curriculum development in the territory in order to re-vision the future development. The time travelling tunnel gives two scientists the ability to travel in time and space in the television series in the UK in 1960's. In this paper, 'excursion into the time tunnel' is used metaphorically, to describe the research process for it is to be adventure and an exploration. Furthermore, the metaphor 'time tunnel' also bridges the present to the past and the future. This is how the author attempts to reveal the story of discourses and practices of the curriculum development in Macau through the 'time tunnel' interweaving with the past, the present and the future. This study stems from a particular stance of educational policy analysis. The study is informed by aspects of critical and post-structuralist perspective, with particular reference to Michel Foucault. In this paper, official document, namely Gazette (known as Boletin Oficial in Portuguese) is the focal point of interest.  相似文献

The assumptions of the Educational Revolution of Mao Zedong in his late years arc tightly interrelated with his attempt to revitalize and realize the ideals of Chinese society. The practices of the Educational Revolution during the Great Cultural Revolution can be traced back to Mao Zedong's thought. Among all of the educational propositions put forward by Mao Zedong in his late years, the most influential and the most far-reaching for the education policies and practices are the following three directives, which symbolize Mao's educational ideals. The first one is the May 7^th Directive, the second one is the July 21^st Directive, and the third one is the directive for workers and peasants to control and administer the schools. These three directives challenged the fundamental problems of China's educational system, such as the aim and task of schooling, the forms and systems of education, and the leadership and control of schools.  相似文献

Based on the field survey of the traditional village in Shanggantang, Hunan province, P. R. China, we analyzed ecological strategies in aspects of the whole human habitation environment and vernacular building human habitation environment. The ecological strategies included adapting to the local climate, reducing source consumption, utilizing local materials and so on. Nano-manipulation technology is an emerging field in the development of modern science and technology. Atomic force microscope (AFM), a sharp weapon for nano imaging and nanomanipulation, which is honored as "eye" and "hand" of nano-technology. However, due to the hysteresis, creep and other nonlinearity of piezoelectric ceramics tube (PZT) as well as the probe's tip deviations caused by cantilever deformation, AFM has larger error of relative displacement between probe and sample, which creates enormous inconvenience to the nano-manipulation and repositioning. As to improve positioning accuracy, this dissertation presents a novel AFM's X-Y dimensional nano-positioning control system with large-scale based on H∞ control. Through careful research on variety of influence factors on AFM's precise nano-manipulation, a composite control strategy based on feedforward compensation control of cantilever probe tip's offset and H∞ control of piezoelectric scanner is presented in this paper. In the end, simulation results can also testify the tracking ability and better nano-positioning performance of the system.  相似文献

There were three traditions of subjective well-being (SWB) measures research: measures related to quality of life, measures related to mental health, and measures related to psychological development. Although the western researchers had made great progress in this field, there still had been some problems, including the integration of various indicators, the innovation to research methodology, and the cultural difference. Based on the past literature on measures of SWB and related literature on happiness from metaphysics, the author proposed the standpoint and train of thought through experience view. it was considered that happiness was the subjective reflection to the real-life, it was not only related to the people's objective life condition, but also related to their needs and value. SWB is the positive psychological experience to one's status of existence and development. The respect of measures research through experience view was the content of the experience, namely the object that brought the experience. The measures research through experience view would study in the conformity train of thought; and it would focus on the relatively steady psychological phenomenon. The measurement instrument developed through this view would be suitable generally.  相似文献

This paper reveals a new evaluation model, which enables educational program and project managers to evaluate their programs with a simple and easy to understand approach. The "index of success model" is comprised of five parameters that enable to focus on and evaluate both the implementation and results of an educational program. The integration of these parameters forms a complete and comprehensive picture, which in turn provides the most information on the success or failure of the program. The parameters are: (1) the relevance index, referring to an evaluation of predefined objectives; (2) the efficiency index, referring to the fiscal efficiency of the program; (3) the effectiveness index evaluating the attainment of the program's objectives; (4) the impact index gauging the effect on the consumers, for whom the program is undertaken; and (5) the final parameter is the program's sustainability index. Since Israel's education strategy currently leans towards site-based monitoring and evaluation, such a model can potentially be of great help to school management and staff.  相似文献
