Based on a multiobjective approach whose objective function (OF) vector collects stochastic reliability performance and structural cost indices, a structural optimization criterion for mechanical systems subject to random vibrations is presented for supporting engineer's design. This criterion differs from the most commonly used conventional optimum design criterion for random vibrating structure, which is based on minimizing displacement or acceleration variance of main structure responses, without considering explicitly required performances against failure. The proposed criterion can properly take into account the design-reliability required performances, and it becomes a more efficient support for structural engineering decision making. The multiobjective optimum (MOO) design of a tuned mass damper (TMD) has been developed in a typical seismic design problem, to control structural vibration induced on a multi-storey building structure excited by nonstationary base acceleration random process A numerical example for a three-storey building is developed and a sensitivity analysis is carried out. The results are shown in a useful manner for TMD design decision support. 相似文献

Engineering students are best able to understand theory when one explains it in relation to realistic problems and its practical applications. Teaching theory in isolation has led to lower levels of comprehension and motivation and a correspondingly higher rate of failure. At Queensland University of Technology, a number of new methods have been introduced recently to improve the teaching and learning of steel structural design at undergraduate level. In the basic steel structures subject a project-based teaching method was introduced in which the students were required to analyze, design and build the lightest/most efficient steel columns for a given target capacity. A design assignment involving simple, but real structures was also introduced in the basic steel structures subject. Both these exercises simulated realistic engineering problems from the early years of the course and produced a range of benefits. Improvements to the teaching and learning were also made through integration of a number of related structural engineering subjects and by the introduction of animated computer models and laboratory models. This paper presents the details of all these innovative methods which improved greatly the students’ understanding of the steel structures design process. 相似文献

建筑结构设计是建设工程设计的重要环节,是保障建筑结构安全、实现建筑使用功能的灵魂。在我国现在的多高层建筑中,钢筋混凝土结构应用最普遍,其中钢筋混凝土框架结构是最常用的结构形式。为了使结构设计更加完善,本文依据GB 50010-2002混凝土结构设计规范和GB 50011-2001(2008年版)建筑抗震设计规范,针对框架结构设计中容易疏忽的几个问题进行了初步探讨,可供设计人员参考。 相似文献

Structural bionic design lacks mature and scientific theories, and the excellent structural characteristics of natural organisms sometimes cannot be transferred into engineering structures effectively. Aiming at overcoming the existing problems, this paper summarizes three related theories: similarity theory, fuzzy evaluation theory and optimization theory. Based on the related theories, a method of structural bionic design is introduced, which includes four steps: selecting the most useful structural characteristic of natural organism; analyzing the structural characteristic finally chosen for engineering problem; completing the structural bionic design for engineering structure; and verifying the structural bionic design. Similarity theory and fuzzy evaluation theory are employed to achieve Step 1. In Step 2 and Step 3, optimization theory is employed to analyze the parameters of structures. Together with the thoughts of simplification and grouping, optimization theory can reveal the relationship between organism structure and engineering structure, providing a way to structural bionic design. A general evaluation criterion is proposed in Step 4, which is feasible to evaluate the performance of different structures. Finally, based on the method, a structural bionic design of thin-walled cylindrical shell is introduced. 相似文献

Seven years of industrial experience followed by 30 years of academic research and teaching in structural engineering have led the author to believe that the prime objective of a university design course is not the design project itself but to train students to solve problems, as this will last them throughout their careers. It is shown how design projects can be formulated for the purpose of encouraging students to develop their problem-solving abilities. More importantly, a sequential assessment technique has been developed to quantify the students’ ability to both think and learn as well as the students’ grasp of the fundamental principles, all of which are required in problem-solving. 相似文献

提出了一种新型结构的直线超声电机,对其驱动原理进行了简要分析;利用有限元软件ANSYS对复合振子进行模态分析和谐波响应分析,计算出复合振子结构尺寸改变对其一阶纵向伸缩和二阶弯曲振动模态频率的影响,得出了两模态频率对结构参数的相对灵敏度;有限元分析结果为复合振子的结构优化设计和电机输出性能的预估提供了有益的参考,据此设计出符合模态简并的复合振子结构及电机的总体结构. 相似文献

为了更加精确、快速地设计曲柄摇杆机构,利用借助辅助圆设计曲柄摇杆机构的原理,通过对曲柄摇杆机构各杆件长度以及运动时所处的几个特殊的几何位置关系进行了数学计算和分析,得到了具有急回特性的曲柄摇杆机构获得最佳传动角的条件和一组设计计算公式;根据所给的具体条件,选择不同的计算公式,采用直接计算法或计算机辅助设计法,确定具有最佳传动角和急回特性的曲柄摇杆机构的机构布置以及各杆件的结构尺寸。 相似文献
