The selective laser sintering (SLS) technique is introduced. A new type of rapid prototyping material (PCPI) has been developed, which can be used to produce precision casting mould directly and rapidly from a CAD model by the selective sintering of successive layers of PCPI with a laser beam. In comparison with conventional manufacturing methods, prominent features of this technique include high forming rate, low development cost and good flexibility. The rapid manufacturing process of precision casting mould based on SLS is discussed.  相似文献

Representations of contemporary rapid prototyping (RP) technologies may not be able to manage and share data processing information based on network. This paper presents a new approach, together with its technical implementation, to solve this problem, and discusses web-based study on RP data processing techniques. At present STL files produced by 3D modeling systems contain triangular facet representation of surfaces and have become standard data inputs of RP and manufacturing systems. The paper proposes algorithms for correcting common errors, and optimizes the algorithm of gaps or hole errors leading to open loops in the data structure based on analyses of the rules and errors in the STL file. In addition, effectiveness of the approach is demonstrated by a simple model view example of STL files based on Java 3D technology.  相似文献

Manufacturing technologies for making advanced micro systems have been developing in a rapid pace recently. Research progress towards nanosized structures and devices opens up a whole new horizon for miniaturized system integration. Advances in this field will have an enormous societal impact and economic benefit in areas such as information technology, energy, healthcare, and many more. There has been an enormous scientific and industrial interest in nanosized advanced technologies. The theories, tools and practices for the design, manufacturing and test of these systems are emerging. Manufacturing systems of the future highly demand that the product data are built into the product model, and smooth data transfer to other computer-aided technologies are enabled. Depending on the type of the manufacturing system, it is envisaged that virtual engi- neering (VE) technologies play a significant role in inte- grating the computer-based technologies involved in the product's life cycle. Simulations in a virtual world and exchange of real-time product or design data are among the benefits for today's global oriented manufacturing busi- ness. Manufacturing is and continues to be an essential part of world's economy. Manufacturing accounts for around 16 % of Europe's GDP. It remains a key driver of R&D, innovation, productivity growth, job creation. 80 % of innovations are made by industries. 75 % of EU exports are in manufacturing products. Each job in manufacturing generates two jobs in service. Manufacturing in the middle of 21st century will look very different from today, and will be virtually unrecognizable from that of 30 years ago. Smart factories will be capable of rapidly adapting their physical and intellectual infrastructures to exploit changes in technology as manufacturing becomes faster, more responsive to changing global markets and closer to customers. The cellular manufacturing (CM) has been proved as a well-known manufacturing strategy that helps to improve manufacturing efficiency and productivity by utilizing the philosophy of group technology. Large num- ber of papers has been published in the area of design issues of CM system. Unfortunately, the issues related to acceptability of CM in Indian industries are typically not examined rigorously as technical issues. According to the features of the turning simulation,a simplified Whitted lighting model is proposed based on the analysis of Phong and other local illumination model.Moreover,in order to obtain the natural lighting effects,local ray tracing algorithm is given to calculate the light intensit of every position during the course of the simulation.This method can calculate the refresh area before calculating the intersection line,simulate the machining environment accurately and reduce the calculating time.Finally ,an example of the virtual cutting scence is shown to demonstrate the effects of the global illumination model.If the CUP is 1.3G and the internal memory is 128M,the refreshing time of virtual turning scene can be reduced by nine times.This study plays an important role in the enrichment of the virtual manufacturing theory and the promotion of the development of the advanced manufacturing technology.  相似文献

Based on an analysis of the relationship between electronic business (EB) and collaborative product commerce (CPC), the conception of CPC is illustrated rigorously. Development and classification of manufacturing systems are summarized. System features and goals on each stage of a manufacturing system are investigated. In particular, goals and feature characteristics of CPC manufacturing system are discussed. A figure of relationship between the feature and goal ofa CPC manufacturing system is given. A model of CPC manufacturing systems based on a set of five elements including goal, feature, topology, view, and process is proposed. This paper presents an investigation on depo- sition of Inconel-625 using laser rapid manufacturing (LRM) and plasma transferred arc (PTA) deposition in individual and tandem mode. LRM has advantages in terms of dimensional accuracy, improved mechanical properties, finer process control, reduced heat input and lower thermal distortion, while PTA scores more in terms of lower initial investment, lower running cost and higher deposition rate. To quantify the clubbed advantages and limitations of both processes, these were studied individually and in tandem. A number of samples were deposited at different process parameters like power, scan speed, powder feed rate. They were subjected to tensile test, adhesion-cohesion test, impact test and micro hardness measurement. The results of individual tests showed the comparable mechanical prop- erties with i20% variation. The mixed dendritic-cellular and dendritic-columnar microstructures were respectively observed for LRM and PTA deposits with a distinct inter- face for the case of tandem deposition. The interface strength of tandem deposits was evaluated employing adhesion-cohesion test, and it was found to be (325 i 35) MPa. The study confirmed the viability of LRM and PTA deposition in tandem for hybrid manufacturing.  相似文献

Inside-holding diamond is an entirely new technique in reamer manufacturing. Compared with the outside-holding diamond technique, the inside-holding technique can make diamond reamer with high precision, equal height and even distribution of diamond grain over the reamer surface, better integrity of diamond grain due to lack of a finishing surface, and a long natural-life. On the other hand, the process of inside-holding technique is more complex. In order to obtain a high-quality inside-holding diamond reamer, some crucial techniques must be used in the reamer manufacturing process. Techniques such as design method, manufacturing process of die, diamond electroplating process and die removing process are presented in this paper.  相似文献

Correctly coding materials and identifying characters marked on materials are very important for steel manufacturing industry to realize informatization management and intelligent manufacturing. However, the steel products manufacturing is often in a high temperature environment, and there are a lot of material storage and retrieval processes, workers are not easily close to the environment and complete tasks, so it is a great challenge to automatically mark and identify characters on the steel products. This paper presents a framework of label characters marking and management for steel materials, furthermore, a kind of marked characters online detection and tracking method has been provided based on machine vision. In addition, some experiments have been done in BaoSteel to mark characters on hot billets and recognize them in multi situations, and the results show that the proposed method is practical, and has provided a helpful exploration in obtaining accurate fundamental data for the intelligent manufacturing system in steelworks.  相似文献

Laser welding is an established manufacturing technology for a large variety of automotive applications due to its attractive properties such as low heat input, high precision and fast welding speed. Especially when welding high strength steels, which are dominantly used in today's car body construction, the low heat input by laser welding bears significant advantages with regard to the properties of the weld seam. The exploitation of the full application potential of laser welding in mass production requires an appropriate manufacturing concept and corresponding auxiliary technologies. The present paper demonstrates the integration of laser welding into the surrounding manu- facturing concepts by a modular setup with different levels of automation. This approach offers flexible solutions for individual needs thereby optimizing investment cost, labor cost and productivity. Recently available laser sources enable exceptionally high welding speed on thin gauged sheet metals but require efficient material handling con- cepts to utilize the full speed potential. The reconfigurable manufacturing system (RMS) is the next step in manufacturing, allowing the production of any quantity of highly customized and complex parts together with the benefits of mass production. In RMSs, parts are grouped into families, each of which requires a specific system configuration. Initially system is configured to produce the first family of parts. Once it is finished, the system will be reconfigured in order to produce the second family, and so forth. The effectiveness of a RMS depends on the formation of the optimum set of part families addressing various recon figurability issues. The aim of this work is to establish a methodology for grouping parts into families for effective working of RMS. The methodology carried out in two phases. In the first phase, the correlation matrix is used as similarity coefficient matrix. In the second phase, agglomerative hier archical Kmeans algorithm is used for the parts family for mation resulting in an optimum set of part families for reconfigurable manufacturing system.  相似文献

From supply-push mode to demand-pull mode, SCM systems will face four main points: (1) real time visibility that covers the whole supply chain, (2) agility for choice of supply and source, (3) response to diverse customer demands and short delivery deadlines, and (4) rapid occurrence of new products following the market trends and new designs. Component-based SCM has become a hot spot in research areas. A multi-layer framework is set up, including a database server layer, an application server layer, a kernel component layer and a user interface layer. Some function components are designed, which are optimal planning arithmetic components, controller components and evaluation indexes components, in order to suit both discrete and continuous manufacturing. This paper studies a three-dimensional SCM configuration method based on the types of enterprise, manufacturing and products, provides powerful tools for SCM system implementations, and adopts an object-oriented technology to construct component-based distributed information system to assure right time, right materials, right place, right quantity and right customers.  相似文献

Network manufacturing has been rapidly developed and is going to play an important role in modern indusu‘y. The core of network manufacturing of mechanical products is the design and manufacturing based on the computer network technology. A network framework is introduced for manufacturing mechanical components at two main levels. On the design level features of the component are initially studied based on the structure and functions of the component. Details of the design procedure and contents are then analyzed with three main kinds of components. In this stage, selection of materials, calculation of sla‘ess and deflection under load, determination of the size are carried out using CAD. On the manufacturing level various aspects of CAPP are discussed, including the principle and the modes of positioning the component, the exerted clamping forces, cutting engagement and input parameters, machine tools used, and machining fluids if necessary. Finally a prototype of the network framework is presented with several pieces of data terminal equipment through a local area network, the topological structure, and data sharing and security, without concerning the use of the concurrent engineering techniques and virtual manufacturing, and virtual measuring techniques.  相似文献
