One of the major reasons why people find music so enjoyable is its emotional impact. Creating emotion-based playlists is a natural way of organizing music. The usability of online music streaming services could be greatly improved by developing emotion-based access methods, and automatic music emotion recognition (MER) is the most quick and feasible way of achieving it. When resorting to music for emotional regulation purposes, users are interested in the MER method to predict their induced, or felt emotion. The progress of MER in this area is impeded by the absence of publicly accessible ground-truth data on musically induced emotion. Also, there is no consensus on the question which emotional model best fits the demands of the users and can provide an unambiguous linguistic framework to describe musical emotions. In this paper we address these problems by creating a sizeable publicly available dataset of 400 musical excerpts from four genres annotated with induced emotion. We collected the data using an online “game with a purpose” Emotify, which attracted a big and varied sample of participants. We employed a nine item domain-specific emotional model GEMS (Geneva Emotional Music Scale). In this paper we analyze the collected data and report agreement of participants on different categories of GEMS. We also analyze influence of extra-musical factors on induced emotion (gender, mood, music preferences). We suggest that modifications in GEMS model are necessary.  相似文献

【目的/意义】针对当前网络舆情识别相关研究成果存在查准率、查全率较低的问题,提出基于情感词汇的 多媒体网络突发事件舆情语义识别方法。利用突发事件数据爬取、抽取等模块构建舆情处理和语义检索平台,将 该平台分为数据采集者、数据管理者和数据使用者三个模块,将最终所得信息数据构成的案例库等当作舆情语义 识别中的数据库。【方法/过程】基于舆情数据库,对舆情词汇情感倾向进行初步识别。以词汇情感倾向性为依据, 对舆情话题评论情感呈现出的强度值进行计算,最后综合评论语义模式权值与其情感倾向值获取话题评论集合最 终情感倾向,完成舆情语义识别。【结果/结论】实验结果表明,所提方法查准率与查全率均较高,具有显著可靠性。 并提出相应的网络突发事件危机响应策略。【创新/局限】在后续研究中应以基于情感语义的舆情监测为重点,以危 机响应预案为基础,不断提升应对舆情突发事件的预判能力和处置能力。  相似文献

This paper is concerned with techniques for fuzzy query processing in a database system. By a fuzzy query we mean a query which uses imprecise or fuzzy predicates (e.g. AGE = “VERY YOUNG”, SALARY = “MORE OR LESS HIGH”, YEAR-OF-EMPLOYMENT = “RECENT”, SALARY ? 20,000, etc.). As a basis for fuzzy query processing, a fuzzy retrieval system based on the theory of fuzzy sets and linguistic variables is introduced. In our system model, the first step in processing fuzzy queries consists of assigning meaning to fuzzy terms (linguistic values), of a term-set, used for the formulation of a query. The meaning of a fuzzy term is defined as a fuzzy set in a universe of discourse which contains the numerical values of a domain of a relation in the system database.The fuzzy retrieval system developed is a high level model for the techniques which may be used in a database system. The feasibility of implementing such techniques in a real environment is studied. Specifically, within this context, techniques for processing simple fuzzy queries expressed in the relational query language SEQUEL are introduced.  相似文献

Music has a close relationship with people's emotion and mental status. Music recommendation has both economic and social benefits. Unfortunately, most existing music recommendation methods were constructed based on genre features (e.g., style and album), which cannot meet the emotional needs of listeners. Furthermore, the “filter bubble” effect may make the situation even worse, when a user seeks music for emotional support. In this study, we designed a novel emotion-based personalized music recommendation framework to meet users’ emotional needs and help improve their mental status. In our framework, we designed a LSTM-based model to select the most suitable music based on users’ mood in previous period and current emotion stimulus. A care factor was used to adjust the results so that users’ mental status could be improved by the recommendation. The empirical experiments and user study showed that the recommendations of our novel framework are precise and helpful for users.  相似文献

Researchers have been aware that emotion is not one-hot encoded in emotion-relevant classification tasks, and multiple emotions can coexist in a given sentence. Recently, several works have focused on leveraging a distribution label or a grayscale label of emotions in the classification model, which can enhance the one-hot label with additional information, such as the intensity of other emotions and the correlation between emotions. Such an approach has been proven effective in alleviating the overfitting problem and improving the model robustness by introducing a distribution learning component in the objective function. However, the effect of distribution learning cannot be fully unfolded as it can reduce the model’s discriminative ability within similar emotion categories. For example, “Sad” and “Fear” are both negative emotions. To address such a problem, we proposed a novel emotion extension scheme in the prior work (Li, Chen, Xie, Li, and Tao, 2021). The prior work incorporated fine-grained emotion concepts to build an extended label space, where a mapping function between coarse-grained emotion categories and fine-grained emotion concepts was identified. For example, sentences labeled “Joy” can convey various emotions such as enjoy, free, and leisure. The model can further benefit from the extended space by extracting dependency within fine-grained emotions when yielding predictions in the original label space. The prior work has shown that it is more apt to apply distribution learning in the extended label space than in the original space. A novel sparse connection method, i.e., Leaky Dropout, is proposed in this paper to refine the dependency-extraction step, which further improves the classification performance. In addition to the multiclass emotion classification task, we extensively experimented on sentiment analysis and multilabel emotion prediction tasks to investigate the effectiveness and generality of the label extension schema.  相似文献

Because the modern concept of number emerged within a quadrivium that included music alongside arithmetic, geometry, and astronomy, musical considerations affected mathematical developments. Michael Stifel embedded the then-paradoxical term "irrational numbers" (numerici irrationales) in a musical context (1544), though his philosophical aversion to the "cloud of infinity" surrounding such numbers finally outweighed his musical arguments in their favor. Girolamo Cardano gave the same status to irrational and rational quantities in his algebra (1545), for which his contemporaneous work on music suggested parallels and empirical examples. Nicola Vicentino's attempt to revive ancient "enharmonic" music (1555) required and hence defended the use of "irrational proportions" (proportiones inrationales) as if they were numbers. These developments emerged in richly interactive social and cultural milieus whose participants interwove musical and mathematical interests so closely that their intense controversies about ancient Greek music had repercussions for mathematics as well. The musical interests of Stifel, Cardano, and Vicentino influenced their respective treatments of "irrational numbers." Practical as well as theoretical music both invited and opened the way for the recognition of a radically new concept of number, even in the teeth of paradox.  相似文献

A robust value- and time-continuous emotion recognition has enormous potential benefits within healthcare. For example, within mental health, a real-time patient monitoring system capable of accurately inferring a patient’s emotional state could help doctors make an appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan. Such interventions could be vital in terms of ensuring a higher quality of life for the patient involved. To make such tools a reality, the associated machine learning systems need to be fast, robust and generalisable. In this regard, we present herein, a novel emotion recognition system consisting of the shallowest realisable Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architecture. We draw insights from visualisations of the trained filter weights and the facial action unit (FAU) activations, i. e. the inputs to the model, of the participants featured in the in-the-wild, spontaneous video-chat sessions of the SEWA corpus. Further, we demonstrate the generalisablity of this approach on the German, Hungarian, and Chinese cultures available in this corpus. The obtained cross-cultural performance is a testimony to the universality of FAUs in expression and understanding of the human affective behaviours. These learnings were moderately consistent with the human perception of emotional expression. The practicality of the proposed approach is also demonstrated in another key healthcare applications; pain intensity prediction. Key results from these experiments highlight the transparency of the shallow CNN structure. As FAU can be extracted in near real-time, and because the models we developed are exceptionally shallow, this study paves the way for a robust, cross-cultural, end-to-end, in-the-wild, explainable real-time affect and pain prediction, that is value- and time-continuous.  相似文献

In a typical inverted-file full-text document retrieval system, the user submits queries consisting of strings of characters combined by various operators. The strings are looked up in a text-dictionary which lists, for each string, all the places in the database at which it occurs. It is desirable to allow the user to include in his query truncated terms such as X1, 1X, 1X1, or X1Y, where X and X are specified strings and 1 is a variable-length-don't-care character, that is, 1 represents an arbitrary, possibly empty, string. Processing these terms involves finding the set of all words in the dictionary that match these patterns. How to do this efficiently is a long-standing open problem in this domain.In this paper we present a uniform and efficient approach for processing all such query terms. The approach, based on a “permuted dictionary” and a corresponding set of access routines, requires essentially one disk access to obtain from the dictionary all the strings represented by a truncated term, with negligible computing time. It is thus well suited for on-line applications. Implementation is simple, and storage overhead is low: it can be made almost negligible by using some specially adapted compression techniques described in the paper.The basic approach is easily adaptable for slight variants, such as fixed (or bounded) length don't-care characters, or more complex pattern matching templates.  相似文献

Although a substantial number of research projects have addressed music information retrieval over the past three decades, the field is still very immature. Few of these projects involve complex (polyphonic) music; methods for evaluation are at a very primitive stage of development; none of the projects tackles the problem of realistically large-scale databases. Many problems to be faced are due to the nature of music itself. Among these are issues in human perception and cognition of music, especially as they concern the recognizability of a musical phrase. This paper considers some of the most fundamental problems in music information retrieval, challenging the common assumption that searching on pitch (or pitch-contour) alone is likely to be satisfactory for all purposes. This assumption may indeed be true for most monophonic (single-voice) music, but it is certainly inadequate for polyphonic (multi-voice) music. Even in the monophonic case it can lead to misleading results. The fact, long recognized in projects involving monophonic music, that a recognizable passage is usually not identical with the search pattern means that approximate matching is almost always necessary, yet this too is severely complicated by the demands of polyphonic music. Almost all text-IR methods rely on identifying approximate units of meaning, that is, words. A fundamental problem in music IR is that locating such units is extremely difficult, perhaps impossible.  相似文献

Four advantages of storing and retrieving geometric figures and chromosome images through the use of shape-oriented similarity measures are presented. A complemented but not distributive lattice and a distributive but not complemented lattice are found. Answers to triangle related fuzzy queries such as “retrieve the triangles which are very similar to isosceles triangles but not similar to a given triangle Δx”, and chromosome related fuzzy queries such as “retrieve the chromosomes which are more or less similar to median chromosomes and very very similar to a given chromosome A” are presented and illustrated by examples. For shape-oriented storage of triangles, it is proposed to store the angles of each triangle in decreasing order of the magnitude and logically order all the triangles according to the magnitude of the angles. For shape-oriented storage of chromosomes, it is proposed to logically order all the chromosomes individually and independently according to the angular sums of its exterior biangles and interior biangles. The results may have useful applications in information storage and retrieval, artificial intelligence and pattern recognition.  相似文献
