A two-layer method based on support vector machines （SVMs） has been developed to distinguish epoxide hydrolases （EHs） from other enzymes and to classify its subfamilies using its primary protein sequences. SVM classifiers were built using three different feature vectors extracted from the primary sequence of EHs： the amino acid composition （AAC）, the dipeptide composition （DPC）, and the pseudo-amino acid composition （PAAC）. Validated by 5-fold cross tests, the first layer SVM classifter can differentiate EHs and non-EHs with an accuracy of 94.2% and has a Matthew＇s correlation coefficient （MCC） of 0.84. Using 2-fold cross validation, PAAC-based second layer SVM can further classify EH subfamilies with an overall accuracy of 90.7% and MCC of 0.87 as compared to AAC （80.0%） and DPC （84.9%）. A program called EHPred has also been developed to assist readers to recognize EHs and to classify their subfamilies using primary protein sequences with greater accuracy. 相似文献

In recent years, China has become an increasingly important and the largest chestnut producer in the world. This study aimed to evaluate the nutritional value and microbiological quality of the roasted freeze-dried Chinese chestnut (Castanea mollissima) (RFDC) coated with dark chocolate (DCC) and milk chocolate (MCC) for industrial use and commercial consumption.Chocolate coating significantly improved the nutritional value of chestnut. RFDC had high levels of starch (66.23%) and fibers (3.85%) while DCC and MCC contained significantly high amounts of sucrose, protein, fat and minerals. Furthermore, the protein content doubled in MCC rather than in DCC. This could be attributed to the different formulations in the two products. Milk powder and whey protein constituted the source of protein in MCC while cocoa powder added to MCC formulation constituted an additional source of minerals. The amino acid profile showed differences in amino acid composition related to the sample's protein content, indicating their good nutritional quality. The moisture contents in all RFDC, DCC and MCC were suitable for industrial processing. These results provide information about the additional nutrients of chocolate-coated chestnut and confirm that the product is an interesting nutritional food. The combination of freeze-drying and chocolate-coating generally results in greater reductions on microbiological loads, extending shelf life of harvested chestnut for commercial application. This is an alternative strategy to add value to chestnut, minimizing the significant losses in harvested fruits and providing a wider range of choices of new products to the consumer disposal. 相似文献

Structural equation modeling with survey data from 313 college counselors revealed that multicultural training significantly mediated the impact of both ethnic identity and gender roles on multicultural counseling competence (MCC), explaining 24% of MCC variance. Results indicated that college counselors need to be aware of their own gender roles and ethnic identity to be culturally competent and highlighted the mediational role that training plays in achieving MCC. 相似文献

To advance the multicultural counseling (MCC) movement counselors and theorists have explored how postmodern concepts might
offer meaningful new directions. To expand on these discussions this paper considers what ethnomethodology (EM), an approach
that has contributed to the postmodern interest in social interaction, has to offer debates around how to conceptualize competence
and culture. This goal is realized by reviewing how culture and competence have been historically conceptualized in the MCC
movement and articulating the challenge posed when one takes up an EM lens. Questions are generated from this perspective
and consideration given to how close examinations of counselor/client interactions provide a means for answering such questions. 相似文献
