南京理工大学力学实验中心为校级实验中心,首批江苏省基础力学实验教学示范中心建设点,实验中心拥有材料性能测试实验室、应力应变测试实验室、光测力学实验室、振动及动态测试实验室、结构实验室,岩土及建材实验室、微观力学实验室、研究生创新实验室,工程测试技术实验室等9个实验室,实验室建筑面积约2000平方米,拥有各类实验设备200余台套,总值800余万元。力学实验中心承担全校力学、机械、动力、土木、武器、化机、材料等工科专业的理论力学、材料力学、工程流体力学等课程的基础力学实验教学,同时接纳全校性本科选修课程的力学实验与实践环节的教学及大学生科技创新活动,每年进入实验中心的各类学生人数总共约2300人。力学实验中心建立了全新的基础力学实验教学体系,基本实验、综合性实验和创新性实验结构合理,内容丰富,既满足量大面广的基础力学实验的教学需要,又注重学生的兴趣和个性的培养。开放型实验的实施和有效推广,提高了学生主动参与实验的积极性,彻底改变了过去学生被动参与实验的状况,在参与开放实验的过程中,学生们对“做实验”又有了全新的体会和认识。  相似文献

按实验的技术类型,把原依附于生物科学专业各课程的8个实验室重组为7个实验室,分别是显微、物质制备与检测、标本制作、生化、培养、解剖、基因工程等实验室。依据教学大纲,按重探索轻验证和各实验室实验个数平衡的原则,选定了99个实验。试验结果表明,新体系不仅改变了实验室的面貌:设备集中使用保证了设备的台套数和实验的开出率,减少设备的重复购置保证了有多余资金及时更新补充新仪器;更重要的是提高了实验教学质量:设备台套数增多保证了学生有较多的动手机会,仪器的及时补充更新保证了学生随时接触新仪器,按技术类型构建实验系统保证了学生获得系统的实验技能。  相似文献

高校实验室是师生进行实验和科研的重要场所,同时也是产生与排放污染物最多的地方。这些污染物处理不当将会对环境造成严重污染。因此,实现高校实验室的绿色化管理是实验教学发展的必然趋势,已经成为新世纪实验教学人员研究的新课题。本文在分析环境工程实验室的现状基础上,从实验仪器管理、实验试剂管理、废弃物管理以及实验准备与方法几个方面探讨了环境工程实验室的绿色化管理方法,提出了针对性的管理措施,初步建立了环境工程绿色实验室,为今后环境工程类实验室的绿色化管理提供参考依据。  相似文献

Active‐learning labs for two topics in high school biology were developed through the collaboration of high school teachers and university faculty and staff and were administered to 408 high school students in six classrooms. The content of instruction and testing was guided by State of Texas science objectives. Detailed teacher records describing daily classroom activities were used to operationalize two types of instruction: active learning, which used the labs; and traditional, which used the teaching resources ordinarily available to the teacher. Teacher records indicated that they used less independent work and fewer worksheets, and more collaborative and lab‐based activities, with active‐learning labs compared to traditional instruction. In‐class test data show that students gained significantly more content knowledge and knowledge of process skills using the labs compared to traditional instruction. Questionnaire data revealed that students perceived greater learning gains after completing the labs compared to covering the same content through traditional methods. An independent questionnaire administered to a larger sample of teachers who used the lab‐based curriculum indicated that they perceived changing their behaviors as intended by the student‐centered principles of the labs. The major implication of this study is that active‐learning–based laboratory units designed and developed collaboratively by high school teachers and university faculty, and then used by high school teachers in their classrooms, can lead to increased use of student‐centered instructional practices as well as enhanced content knowledge and process learning for students. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 当前理工科特别是信息类的通识核心课程缺乏系统的建设,普遍没有教学团队的支持,理工科教师在承担通识类课程的时候通常注重传授知识,而较少深入思考,缺少整体性、综合性和广博性。文章在探讨跨学科的信息类通识核心课程组织、教学目标的基础上,指出教学模式应变"教"为"导",营造互动的课堂氛围,坚持将课程内容和现实问题相结合,以生动形象的影像资料配合课堂教学,并使用动手实验强化学习效果,开设小班讨论扩展学生思维。结果表明:革新后的信息类通识核心课程能有效增强学生逻辑思维能力,帮助学生领会信息技术所蕴涵的科学思想要点。  相似文献

Over the years, rapid development in computer technology has engendered simulation-based laboratory (lab) in addition to the traditional hands-on (physical) lab. Many higher education institutions adopt simulation lab, replacing some existing physical lab experiments. The creation of new systems for conducting engineering lab activities has raised concerns among educators on the merits and shortcomings of both physical and simulation labs; at the same time, many arguments have been raised on the differences of both labs. Investigating the effectiveness of both labs is complicated, as there are multiple factors that should be considered. In view of this challenge, a study on students’ perspectives on their experience related to key aspects on engineering laboratory exercise was conducted. In this study, the Visual Auditory Read and Kinetic model was utilised to measure the students’ cognitive styles. The investigation was done through a survey among participants from Multimedia University, Malaysia. The findings revealed that there are significant differences for most of the aspects in physical and simulation labs.  相似文献

Science instruction literature provides us with goals for laboratory instruction and guidelines for designing and implementing science labs in the post‐secondary setting. How well are we doing in our attempt to provide a meaningful and positive learning experience for our students? This paper describes the results of a study to determine whether students view the lab component of second‐year physics courses at a mid‐sized Canadian University as a valuable learning experience. The results of a survey, administered over six semesters and completed by 168 students, indicate that students do acknowledge the value of labs. The results also identify the factors that influence the students’ perceptions of value in physics labs. This paper discusses the four factors found to have the greatest influence on students’ perceptions of the value of labs: (1) the pressure to complete an experiment within the allotted time, (2) the information provided on the lab instruction sheets, (3) the help provided by lab staff and graduate teaching assistants, and (4) the students’ level of preparedness.  相似文献

We have conducted action research involving an instructional intervention over a 20-year period. This has demonstrated that spatial ability influences academic performance in engineering, and can be increased through instruction focused on using perception and mental imagery in three-dimensional representation. Prior to our intervention, the first-year engineering graphics course at our university had a failure rate of 36% for all engineering students and failure rates of 80% for African students studying at our university. Similar high failure rates were reported in engineering drawing and design courses at other Southern African universities, and similar association between low scores on tests of spatial ability and academic performance, suggesting that the problem was one encountered by many engineering students, not just by students at our university. Over the initial 2 years of the intervention, pass rates for the first-year engineering graphics course increased from 64 to 76%. With further changes in teaching, and the training of senior students as tutors to support the lecturing and practical activities provided in the course, the pass rates have risen to 88% annually, over a period in which the composition of the first-year student has become increasingly diverse, with greater numbers of students entering the university from disadvantaged educational backgrounds. The instructional model we have used is based on Piagetian principles, and confirms Piaget's theories with respect to the trainability of spatial ability in adulthood. Our findings suggest the importance of early identification of students with difficulty, as well as the potential value of an intervention aimed at training the processes involved in visualization through three-dimensional modelling and representation of objects. While spatial ability appears to be trainable through the methods we have developed, our research also indicates that level of spatial ability at time of intake to university is an important influence on academic performance, suggesting the value of instruction in visualization and three-dimensional representation at school level. Social factors are also important influences on academic performance, suggesting the value of tutorial-based interventions aimed at improving spatial ability in those university and technikon courses for which visualization and three-dimensional representation are a requirement.  相似文献

通过剖析地理科学专业传统实验教学模式,找出了它所存在的主要问题:实验项目附属于理论教学,实验方法单一、呆板,缺少综合性、设计性、系统性和整体性,不利于学生创新能力的培养.嘉应学院地理系通过实验室重组,建立以一级学科为基础的综合实验室;重组实验内容,优化实验课程结构;实行实验室开放,开设设计性、综合性实验等改革实践,对培养学生的创新能力取得了良好的效果.  相似文献
