This study has explored the parents’ regulation strategies that were more likely to support children’s self-regulation in
learning situations with computers. These strategies have been analysed by means of new grids involving seven categories of
behaviour: cognitive strategies relating to identification of objective, exploration of means, attention and evaluation; motivational
strategies; and socio-communicative strategies such as joint attention and request. 62 7-year-old children from Quebec families
were examined with their mothers and fathers. The children were asked to complete two learning tasks that involved using LOGO
software to draw a picture. Results indicated that parents’ regulation varied depending on their gender; a higher directivity
was observed in mothers, more specifically through some specific strategies. Analysis of variance on repeated measures showed
that, during the session, there was a decrease in the specification of the objective, the initiation of joint attention and
of behaviour regulation in parents; and an improvement of the identification of the objective, planning and self-evaluation
in children. Correlations between parental regulation and children’s self-regulation strategies indicated positive links concerning
strategies relating to joint attention and to motivation; and negative links concerning strategies relating to the exploration
of means and evaluation. A good adjustment of the parents’ regulation and the children’s self-regulation correlated positivel
with success in the task. Methodological implications are proposed for research and psycho-educative intervention. 相似文献

Education is facing significant political and contextual challenges that will impact its future. This study employs a Delphi methodology to investigate teacher educators’ views of current trends and their consequences for teacher education futures. Interviews were conducted with a sample of expert teacher educators drawn from eight countries. This provided international perspectives on both local and global trends. The data were analysed to identify and elaborate key themes reported by the participants. The article draws on these themes to develop brief narratives around current developments that the teacher educators argue will have a major impact on the future of teacher education. These narratives are used to develop possible scenarios to inform thinking about teacher education futures. 相似文献

The environmental picture book Barbapapa’s Ark was published in 1974. I was keeping a parent-observer record of my two children at the time. The book had a strong influence on them from ages three to six, moving them to query pollution and hunting, in book and environment, and as adults, becoming committed activists for the environment. In this paper, we deploy M.M. Bakhtin’s notions about how language works to understand aspiring teachers’ struggles about the intersecting roles race, class, gender, language background, and sexual orientation play in students’ school lives and learning. Through life-history interviews and document analysis, we investigated the authoritative and internally persuasive discourses one aspiring teacher brought with her and took from a 15-week long course on a predominantly White Midwestern public university campus. Ideas she encountered in the course and its required tutoring component challenged her thinking about how various facets of people’s lives (such as those we list above) and the contexts in which they live, work and are schooled, affect how they are perceived, what they know, and can do. 相似文献

The significance of Mach’s principle (and the implicit relativity principle) for field theory is discussed, also the significance
of zero-mass boson fields for the geometry of the physical space. The significance of such fields for Mach’s principle within
the framework of cosmology is also discussed. It is suggested that the distant matter of the universe generates one or two
zero-mass boson fields, very likely a tensor field and perhaps a scalar, and that each of these fields propagates, carrying
into the laboratory a quasistatic influence having its origin primarily in the distant matter of the universe. The observable

In Macao, the government has initiated a debate regarding revisions in the Decree Law in order to promote a more inclusive schooling system. In this Special Administrative Region of China, inclusive education is one of three possible types of special education that are likely be legislated in the future. The way the teachers perceive the different aspects related to inclusive education, namely the principles, concepts and law, is essential for its full implementation. The aim of this study is to understand teachers’ perceptions about the proposed amendments in the consultation document for changes in the special education regime. In particular, we focus on teachers’ acceptance of the recommended role of parents, the proposed placement models and expectations for teacher training. A mixed-methods approach with a survey of a sample of 500 teachers in private schools and interviews to a sub-sample of 20 provide the data. While agreeing in principle with the majority of the proposed changes in the Decree Law, there were several reservations made by the teachers, especially regarding the extent of parental choice, placement decisions and teacher training. Recommendations to continue the pathway for a more inclusive education system in Macao and for further research are made. 相似文献

This research investigated the similarities and differences between countries in young children’s early numeracy skills related to age, culture, and gender. The participants were five‐year‐old children from Beijing (People’s Republic of China), England, and Finland. The rationale for the cross‐cultural comparison originates from research results with older children showing that Asian children outperform children from America or Europe, and from the lack of such information concerning younger children. The results showed that in all locations older children performed better than the younger children. Cultural differences were found: young children from Beijing outperformed those from England and Finland in overall early numeracy performance, as well as in sub‐tests for understanding of quantities and relations (i.e. relational skills), and counting skills. Finnish children had better scores than English children in the whole early numeracy scale and in the relational scale. The results are discussed in relation to culture, instruction in preschools, and learning support at home, as well as the effects of language characteristics. The culture’s appreciation of and approach to mathematics learning in early childhood is a plausible explanation for the cross‐cultural differences found in this study. 相似文献

Takayasu’s arteritis (TA), also known as the “pulseless disease,” is a chronic vasculitis of the aorta and aortic branches.
TA with Crohn’s disease is rare and has not been documented in China before. In this paper we report on a case of Takayasu’s
arteritis associated with concurrent Crohn’s disease. A 17-year-old Chinese male developed upper limb sourness and a sensation
of fatigue, and his upper limb pulses were absent. He was diagnosed with TA and underwent an axillary artery bypass with autologous
great saphenous vein on the left subclavian artery. After the surgery, he regained the normal blood pressure. This patient
also had years of diarrhea and developed an anal canal ulcer, and was diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease and ulcerative
colitis before. Five months after the TA surgery, he was hospitalized for severe stomachache and diarrhea and was finally
diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. The possible pathophysiological mechanisms responsible for concurrent existence of TA and
Crohn’s disease may be associated with immune disorders, especially autoimmunity.

On September 16, 2009, the Lambda Literary Foundation (LLF) released a statement revising their eligibility guidelines for
the Lambda Literary Award, the most prestigious citation offered for LGBT books and authors. This criteria, which demands
that an author must self-identify as a member of the LGBT family of writers, has been met with considerable disapproval within
the field of children’s and young adult literature, with critics decrying the decision as unfair and essentialist. By arguing
for the deployment of strategic essentialism as a discourse of resistance and by working to complicate discussions of essentialism
within the field of children’s and young adult literature, the author of this article confronts the condemnation levied at
the Lambda Literary Foundation and makes the case for the necessity of establishing the “Lammys” as an “insider-only” citation. 相似文献

Public education is commonly perceived as a social good endowed with the capacity to equalise western citizens’ chance of ‘success’. In 2008 Australia introduced standardised testing and reporting procedures to improve educational quality and equity through two policy tools (NAPLAN/MySchool). Ensuing public debate culminated in two Senate Inquiries. Qualitative critical analysis of all (N = 268) submissions to Inquiry One evidenced two major themes: marketisation and data (mis)use; and competition, commodification and practice. Marketisation’s hegemony shaped discourse and recommendations, with institutions and individuals promoting/engaging in self-aggrandising performance-driven activities seeking market advantage, often whilst simultaneously objecting. Submissions largely opposed MySchool and supported NAPLAN despite detailing maladaptive impacts and recommending changes. Drawing upon Latour, we suggest actors’ interactions with these tools (re)produced and re-enacted marketisation principles. Where marketisation, commodification or political rhetoric drives educational change, one ought to be cautious authentic approaches are not truncated by stakeholders lacking legitimate means to compete for resources or social status. 相似文献
