教学是一门科学,更是一门艺术,英语课堂教学也是如此。本文主要结合英语课堂教学的特点,论述了作为一名合格的英语教师如何对这门艺术进行探索。文章主体从备课、上课、课后辅导和批改作业这不可分割的教学“四部曲”探索英语课堂教学的艺术性。备课是一个非常重要的准备环节,又包括备教学大纲、钻研教材,全面理解学生,备教学方法,设计教案等组成部分。上课这个关键环节主要从以下几个方面进行论述,包括构建和谐课堂气氛,新旧知识的衔接,发挥教师的主导作用,重表扬、多鼓励。最后的结束语呼吁英语教师要不断提高自身素质,才能使自身的课堂教学更精彩、更艺术。  相似文献

This study examined the experiences of teachers in a Jewish early childhood center implementing constructivist theory and pedagogy through a Reggio Emilia-inspired model. Constructivist practices were described through interviews, surveys, classroom documentation, and observations. The data indicated that areas that were initially deemed as successes were hard to maintain and seemingly overshadowed by challenges. These areas included understanding constructivist theory, using open-ended materials, and relying on open-ended questions to facilitate knowledge. Furthermore, teachers struggled when comparing information gained by children from classes using a more traditional educational approach. Insights in each area are provided to support Jewish and general studies constructivist teachers.  相似文献

This paper describes an experimental course in the preparation of art teachers. The goal of the course was to engage final-year art students in thinking about the fundamental questions in aesthetic education and in considering various views of their roles as teachers of art. The classes presented a dialogue between two teachers: a philosopher of art and an artist. We discussed the social justification of art, the place of art in education and more generally the portrayal of visual culture in philosophical thought. The bibliography for the course comprised a list of basic texts in aesthetic education, from Friedrich Schiller to Nelson Goodman. In class we linked the range of philosophical views examined to the artistic exploration of themes (mainly in contemporary and local art). The course also incorporated guest speakers who presented their own projects relating to different meeting points of art and education, including social-activist artists, curators, philosophers of education and school architects. The article presents the rationale for the course, its method and a sample of its content.  相似文献

The “Ecoles Centrales” were originally created by the Frena Convention in order to contribute to the education of the elite but the art classes were in fact assiduously attended by working class pupils.

By confronting the various teaching methods used by art teachers in the “Ecoles Centrales” with those in use at the end of the “Ancien Régime”, we shall study the appropriateness of their teaching methods compared with the aestheticand educational theories prevailing at the turn of the century. We shall also examine whether the art class effectively provided the students’ needs for professional experience.

Despite a commonly accepted idea, the teaching methods which originated from the academic tradition are not necessarily incompatible with working doss students. However, if a few teachers set/ lay down the basis for a changing in tìx teaching of elementary drawing by introducing geometry, it is more to rationalise the very first learning steps rather than attempt to implement methods adapted to the graphic training of workers and craftsmen.  相似文献

The Finnish social pedagogical curriculum for early childhood education directs early childhood teachers to use documentation to assess and develop pedagogy and practise. This empirical study examines the challenges and benefits a group of Finnish preschool teachers experienced when they learned to document their work. Although the idea of documenting appears fine in theory, and international experiences of constructing child-centered pedagogy through documents are promoted in the literature, accomplishing this task successfully is challenging in practise. In this study, as the features of documentation in early childhood education and care practise were considered critically, ideological discord was found within the national and local policy-making process, including problems with pedagogical leadership, which reduced the power of documentation in practise. However, the study also revealed that using documentation empowered the teachers as professionals, helped them communicate with parents and children, and guided them to focus on the children’s views.  相似文献

The present study reports findings on pre-service teachers’ thinking during planning and implementing play-based art activities. ‘Thinking’ (in the present study) is informed by discourses emphasising art teaching and learning in relation to play and theoretical assumptions conceptualising planning as ‘practice of knowing’. Pre-service teachers’ thinking was explored through: (a) a tool ‘sk?ptikó’ (a series of questions), created by the researchers to initiate inquiry during planning and provide evidence about participants’ ‘practice of knowing’, and (b) a semi-structured interview using the method of photo-elicitation. Classroom observation, researchers’ reflective notes, document analysis (‘sk?ptikó’) and photographs were used in conjunction with data gathered from semi-structured interviews to confirm the findings. The findings suggest that there is a relationship between pre-service early childhood teachers’ thinking (planning) and practice (implementation). The rationale behind their decisions appears to compete with their thinking on philosophical/moral choices (knowing why). The notion of space has been challenged through artistic practices incorporating ‘play’, while art activities were characterised as playful, reinforcing active learning. The study highlights the significance of thinking through documentation, as this was found to contribute to reflective pedagogical practices.  相似文献

我国现代职业教育中传统文化课程体系存在诸多不足:学校、教师、学生对传统文化课程不重视,教学课程单一,教学内容跟不上时代要求,教学方法落后等。由此可见,传统文化课程在高职院校建设中又拥有较大完善发展空间。应有针对性地合理设置文化课程:设置多样性的传统文化课程,吸引学生兴趣;建设有高职特色的传统文化课程体系,适应当代高职学生对传统文化的需求;寓教于乐,充分激发学生对中国传统文化和民间艺术的热爱和兴趣,树立正确的价值观、自然观和道德观。  相似文献

The purpose of this article is to describe how the Department of Art Education at the University of Lapland in Finland has developed winter art as a method of environmental and community‐based art education. I will focus on the Snow Show Winter Art Education Project, a training project funded by the European Union and the State Provincial Office of Lapland. The general aim of the project was to increase the know‐how of winter art in Northern Finland. This goal was put into practice through workshops on snow construction, documentation of winter art, winter‐oriented media production, and snow and ice sculpting; through continuing education seminars, workshops, and school projects for teachers; and through public lectures and seminars on winter and winter art. In this article, I describe the challenges that winter offers to community and environment‐based art education in the North. Further, I introduce the methods of implementation and the outcomes of winter art exercises carried out by several schools in Lapland in cooperation with and inspired by the Snow Show Winter Art Education Project.  相似文献

Research that aimed to examine teachers’ experiences whilst implementing a reform approach to mathematics teaching in an Irish primary school forms the basis of this paper. In particular, factors that contributed to changing mathematics practice in this case study school are outlined. The school engaged in professional development (PD) that focused on using an instructional framework [Hiebert, J., T. P. Carpenter, E. Fennema, K. C. Fuson, D. Wearne, H. Murray, A. Olivier, and P. Human. 1997. Making Sense: Teaching and Learning Mathematics with Understanding. Portsmouth: Heinemann] in the school-identified strand units of length and weight. Four classes were tracked throughout the study and each class acted as a sub-case within the larger study. Data collected through lesson observations, teacher interviews, pupil work samples, and pupil focus group interviews were used to compare teachers’ experiences and to identify what supported and enabled them to change their practice, in addition to highlighting challenges that may have prevented such change. Findings were that shifts in practice were evident to different degrees in the four classes during the study. In relation to enabling factors, findings suggest that tailored PD, and the use and refinement of an instructional framework contributed to enabling teachers in changing their mathematics teaching. In particular, teachers reported that the 4Ts instructional framework was a very useful tool in supporting them to change mathematics teaching.  相似文献

This article explores how an experienced teacher navigates the demands of curriculum to implement her inquiry-centered teaching and learning philosophy, and how administrators along the way supported her during this change. Interviews with this classroom teacher surface suggestions for twenty-first-century professional development and support, including the development of equitable, intellectual, and trusting relationships between teachers and administrators, attitudes of curiosity and availability on the part of administrators, and the use of documentation to provide evidence and visibility of meaningful teaching and learning. This article invites teachers interested in change and administrators committed to supporting competent teachers to consider the strategies proposed.  相似文献

This paper details a project which involved a group of art specialist Diploma in Education students, two lecturing staff plus a group of primary school children in a series of planned art activities for two terms. The Saturday Morning Art programme (S.M.ART) was developed to enable the students to systematically focus on art learning in these classes by using largely qualitative research processes within a case study framework. By introducing these pre-service trainee art teachers to research techniques which they can then use, we believe we are preparing them to be self-evaluative and reflective practitioners in the classroom.  相似文献
