By providing a place in which children can be accessed, the school has long been a site for population-level health initiatives. Recent policy shifts towards health-promoting schools have however re-cast the school from passive host to active collaborator in public health. This paper examines secondary school teachers' views of their roles as partners in Scotland's human papilloma virus vaccination programme. Focus groups were held in seven schools across Scotland. Confusion was evident in relation to this role, with competing understandings of young women's sexuality, concerns about parental perceptions and uncertainty about professional responsibilities. Many teachers sought to distance themselves from the vaccination programme. Evidence was found of a ‘sedimentation of discourses’, as mass models of state-sanctioned health intervention persist alongside contemporary discourses of individual choice. 相似文献

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends the HPV vaccination for boys and girls starting at age 11, yet adoption rates are low. We use eight focus groups to explore the decision making process, experiences, and social influences, including media and sex education classes, shaping attitudes of male and female college students. We find many students who have misinformation or no knowledge of the vaccination yet are eager to learn more. Due to youths’ range of knowledge about the vaccination and varied preparedness for making their own medical decisions, practitioners are in a challenging position to inform and encourage responsible decision making without appearing coercive. 相似文献

目的:基于临床样本探讨宫颈脱落细胞HPV E6/E7mR NA检测能否作为HPV阳性女性的筛查手段。创新点:首次比较了宫颈脱落细胞HPV E6/E7 mR NA检测与宫颈脱落细胞学检测对于HPV阳性女性宫颈活检结果的预测价值。方法:所有入组的HPV阳性女性均进行宫颈脱落细胞学及HPV E6/E7 mR NA检测。比较两种方法对于宫颈活检结果的预测价值。结论:对于HPV阳性的女性,高级别鳞状上皮内病变(HSIL)HPV E6/E7 mR NA阳性率高于低级别鳞状上皮内病变(LSIL)及正常病例。HPV E6/E7mR NA与细胞学检测相比,HSIL及以上级别病变的检测敏感性(89.52%vs.86.67%,P=0.671)、特异性(48.96%vs.48.96%,P=1.000)、阳性预测值(39.00%vs.38.24%,P=1.000)及阴性预测值(92.76%vs.90.97%,P=0.678)均无显著差异。HPV E6/E7 mR NA检测或能成为HPV阳性女性的一种新的筛查手段。 相似文献

目的探讨各级别宫颈上皮内瘤变及宫颈癌患者HPV病毒感染情况。方法本研究采用TCT联合荧光定量PCR法检测HPV病毒,病理学检查为金标准,TCT筛查正常者为对照组。结果HPV病毒感染率随年龄增加有下降的趋势。HPV-16、58、18三种亚型位居各级别宫颈病变HPV病毒感染的前三位。HPV病毒双重或多重感染与宫颈病变级别之间无正相关性。结论HPV-16、58、18三种亚型致病力强,易导致高级别宫颈病变,具有较高的致癌性。 相似文献

In order to help the selection and training of teachers for kindergartens, a scale for diagnosis of the special psychological predispositions needed for kindergarten teachers has been developed. It consists of 130 items derived from a personality test and an ability test.
By the use of stratified sampling strategy, 660 teachers from different kindergartens in Beijing were chosen to form a sample group in its development. Study provides qualitative analysis of data that answers the following research question: how college science faculty teach science and NOS and incorporate aspects of NOS and the history of science into their undergraduate courses? Study concentrates on four cases and more specifically on three introductory science classes and on four instructors who taught those courses. These instructors were chosen as case studies to explore in greater detail what occurs inside introductory science courses in one particular higher institution in the Northeastern United States. Participants’ teaching styles are presented through a combined and detailed presentation of interview data and classroom observations supported with examples from their classroom activities. Constant comparative approach was used in the process of organizing and analyzing data. Findings revealed that participants preferred to use the traditional teacher-centered lecturing as their teaching style and whose main concern was to cover more content, develop the problem solving skills of their students, and who wanted to teach the fundamental principles of their subjects without paying special importance to the NOS aspects. The study also revealed that other variables of teaching science, such as large class size, lack of management and organizational skills, teaching experience, and instructors’ concerns for students’ abilities and motivation are more important for these scientists then teaching for understanding of NOS. 相似文献
