BIBFRAME可以实现书目数据的关联数据化以及图书馆数据与外部资源的链接,为智慧图书馆建设提供书目的数据化支持。在BIBFRAME模型特点及词表重用方式的基础上,利用采集到的国家图书馆书目数据,着重探讨了基于BIBFRAME中文书目关联数据化的映射设计过程,并归纳相应的映射处理方式;同时利用拟定义URI,分析书目数据内外部实体资源链接方式,以完善关联数据发布过程。通过此研究路径,提出了书目数据映射过程中的相关问题,构建了书目数据实体资源关联模型,为实现中文书目数据CNMARC语义关联数据化提供借鉴。  相似文献

本文介绍了基于现有的知识组织工具和书目数据资源自动构建本体的方法:首先根据书目数据揭示的领域知识建立一个用OWL描述的数据模型,然后从词表、类表和书目数据集中自动抽取对象和关系的实例,写入OWL数据模型,形成书目本体.这是构建本体的一条经济、高效、合理且实用的道路.基于该本体,不仅可以实现概念浏览和语义检索,还可以增强搜索引擎的功能,通过词汇服务实现检索词提示和搜索结果归类.基于<中国分类主题词表>和计算机类的书目数据,本文实现了一个语义检索系统KVision,展现了传统知识组织资源对于网络信息资源利用的潜在价值.  相似文献

Core lists of recommended resources have long been used as selection tools for collection development in hospital libraries. However, hospital librarians now rely on the Internet for access to up-to-date information to supplement materials available within their libraries. Many libraries now either maintain a library Web page or provide input for their institution's Web page. The difficulty is determining what sites to include on their page. This article is a basic guide to recommended links for hospital libraries. It is intended as a starting place for hospital librarians who wish to create (or add to) a Web page of good links to be used for answering reference questions, or as a list for library users. The list is available as a link from the Sharp Health Science Library Web page where it will be updated at least annually. Links will be checked on a regular basis.  相似文献

Abstract

Blackboard Learning System(tm) enhancements can provide high levels of sophistication and make it relatively simple to provide a seamless connection between online courses and library services. But not all institutions are willing or able to make the investment for these additional features. Yet providing direct links to library resources from Blackboard courses may still be the best way to facilitate a connection between the two Web environments. This paper is intended to introduce the key points for consideration as an institution begins a project to insert a library presence into online and courseware-enhanced classes taught on Blackboard. A general “primer” on the potential functionality of Blackboard is included as well as instructions for the various means of creating links from course menus to a library Web page.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: The authors sought to find out whether certain Webometric indexes of a sample of pediatric Web resources, and some tests based on them, could be helpful predictors of their disappearance. METHODS: The authors performed a retrospective study of a sample of 363 pediatric Websites and pages they had followed for 4 years. Main measurements included: number of resources that disappeared, number of inbound links and their annual increment, average daily visits to the resources in the sample, sample compliance with the quality criteria of 3 international organizations, and online time of the Web resources. RESULTS: On average, 11% of the sample disappeared annually. However, 13% of these were available again at the end of follow up. Disappearing and surviving Websites did not show differences in the variables studied. However, surviving Web pages had a higher number of inbound links and higher annual increment in inbound links. Similarly, Web pages that survived showed higher compliance with recognized sets of quality criteria than those that disappeared. A subset of 14 quality criteria whose compliance accounted for 90% of the probability of online permanence was identified. Finally, a progressive increment of inbound links was found to be a marker of good prognosis, showing high specificity and positive predictive value (88% and 94%, respectively). CONCLUSIONS: The number of inbound links and annual increment of inbound links could be useful markers of the permanence probability for pediatric Web pages. Strategies that assure the Web editors' awareness of their Web resources' popularity could stimulate them to improve the quality of their Websites.  相似文献

This article examines approaches to creating museum Web sites that offer quality experiences to online users. In six case studies, museum Web developers in the U.S. and Canada describe how they have made the most of available human and financial resources. The development history of each site offers insights into the origins of a design and its subsequent versions, and describes the influence of institutional missions, philosophies, success indicators—and financial and human resources, the most crucial factors. The study found considerable variety in the backgrounds, expertise, titles and training of people developing Web sites within institutions. Web teams developed “exchange” experiences through online discussion, and by creating links among users, or between museum staff and users. In three case studies, Web sites encouraged visitors to cycle between online and on‐site museum visits. Web developers describe using quantitative and qualitative online audience research strategies. WebTrendsTM software has enabled Web teams to report complex log analyses. Creating online experiences in partnership with users is the intention of Web developers.  相似文献

Summary

With so many Internet sites devoted to education for educators, administrators, and librarians, it can be a daunting experience trying to find needed resources. There are special sites devoted to teachers, children, and parents. The government provides free access to database searching, statistics, and full-text publications. State and local levels of government also host valuable data and reports. More and more journals are appearing online in full-text format escalating user expectation to assume all journals will be available via the Internet. Tapping into higher education and academic library sites connects to content rich links. Demographic data is extremely valuable for a variety of business applications, including market research, strategic planning, identifying target markets, advertising, and for use with geographic information systems. Because timely data is very important, the Internet is increasingly being used as a tool for gathering and disseminating demographic data to end-users. This paper outlines many Web sites containing demographic data. Included are sites for governmental bodies, universities, and research institutions; international sites; commercial vendors; and Web versions of journals. SUMMARY

RSS technology is growing in popularity among libraries as a way to distribute, or syndicate, information about new electronic resources and Web content to users. “Really Simple Syndication” is an effective communication tool for libraries because it supplies the user with to up-to-date links and announcements on the library Web site after only one initial setup function. RSS does not require the user to make frequent visits to the library Web site for updated information; rather, it gathers content from any Web sites designated by the user, and delivers news to the users in an aggregated format. The benefits of RSS are that the software to setup the service is often free for downloading and many users are already familiar with the application. The “orange button” now present on so many commercial Web sites ranging from news sites to blogs is gaining a presence on library Web sites.  相似文献

Thanks to the World Wide Web, users now expect to link easily between disparate information services. It is no longer enough to study raw data in one database, search for relevant published articles in another, and look at the full articles in yet another. Users want to move seamlessly between all these sources, in order to follow lines of research efficiently and accurately. What are the problems in building links using data resources which were not designed for this purpose? This article presents examples drawn from recent work in The Dialog Corporation as well as from the European Union‐funded ADLIB project, and examines the key issues of scalability and the interaction between different types of publishers.  相似文献

[目的/意义]关联数据的研究对于数据资源的描述、组织、发布、检索、利用等具有重要意义。医学相关领域拥有庞大的数据规模和发达的数据共享实践,对该领域开放关联数据集进行系统的调查研究,对关联数据集的共享、管理、应用而言有重要的参考价值。[方法/过程]从平台分布、主题、格式、链入链出关系、所用词表等维度就医学相关领域的85个开放关联数据集进行调查及统计分析;从药物知识发现、语义关联搜索、智慧医疗建设等方面研究关联数据集的实际应用问题。[结果/结论]归纳医学相关领域开放关联数据集在科学研究和实践应用中的特点,以及在推动语义网发展和支持智慧医疗等方面的欠缺之处,以期促进对语义网、关联数据网络等关联数据发展与应用相关问题的进一步思考、探索和解决。  相似文献
