The National League for Nursing and the American Nurses' Association publish many works that are vital to nursing literature, but their publications are difficult for libraries to handle efficiently and for users to find. This paper discusses the problems involved in making NLNIANA publications accessible to users. A survey was conducted to determine how libraries are handling these publications and whether or not they are satisfied with their methods. Results show that a majority are content with their processing of NLNIANA materials and that these libraries are not using different methods to handle these publications from those who are not satisfied. 相似文献

In recent years, the landscape for wireless technology has changed substantially, with profound implications for the evolution of last-mile access infrastructure. This paper provides a high-level introduction to emerging trends in wireless technology, with a special focus on how these are impacting municipal broadband deployments. Also discussed are some of the key architectural and design choices for wireless networking systems and their implications for cost and system performance. In addition, examples are provided regarding how the new wireless technologies are being deployed by municipalities in a variety of contexts, with reference to wireless technologies currently available from vendors. Motion pictures are usually entered under title. This cataloging tradition is examined against AACR2 and earlier codes to determine its source, and to assess the extent of its compliance with, or deviation from the current cataloging code. The authorship conditions of motion pictures are discussed in an attempt to establish criteria for choice of main entry that are consistent with general principles of cataloging. Suggestions are made for modifying AACR2 to accommodate the main entry needs of motion pictures and other works with comparable authorship conditions. 相似文献

下载免费PDF全文 This paper reports on a survey of editors undertaken during 2013. The survey asked about lifestyle and work, and in particular how these are changing with the growth of self‐publishing authors. This article reports on the changing opportunities for editorial work and the practices of independent editors, and how their working routines have changed over the past three years. It reveals a shift from working for traditional publishers towards working for new clients, including self‐publishing authors; relationships with traditional publishers are strained for a variety of reasons, and increasing satisfaction levels are discernible in relationships with experienced self‐publishers. The paper considers the consequences of editors' changing patterns of work and client base, and likely future outcomes. Areas for further close monitoring and research are suggested. 相似文献
