ABSTRACT

The development of Information and Communication Technology has created waves of excitement about its power to fix educational problems and improve learning results, prompting a succession of policy efforts to integrate digital technology into education. Educators, schools and corporations are increasingly driving these initiatives. This article makes the argument that a narrow vision of digital technology, which both ignores the complexity of education and wastes valuable public resources, is becoming an obstacle to significant improvement and transformation in education. Utilising our research and experience in the field of educational technology, this paper problematises the common elision of ‘technology’ and ‘digital technology’. From this basis, we then critically reflect on various common approaches to introducing digital technology in education under the guise of promoting equality and digital inclusion. These include national government-led programmes, more recent trends for local school-led initiatives, and the role of non-formal education initiatives led by corporations/foundations. Amidst the varying surface-level ‘failure’ and/or ‘success’ of these approaches, we point to limited underpinning ‘information and knowledge society’ logics in framing the application of digital technology to education. As such we conclude by considering the educational challenges for future Ed-Tech initiatives.  相似文献

由我国著名学者、文学批评家李长之撰写的《司马迁之人格与风格》一书的第七章第六节认为 ,司马迁的根本思想是道家。鄙见以为 ,司马迁思想中确有浓厚的道家思想因素 ,但并不占其思想的主导方面 ,其根本思想依然是儒家。司马迁在李陵一案中的态度和立场及著述《史记》的前后经过足以说明问题。在其一言一行中仍十分明显地体现出儒家仁、义、礼、智、信 ,重修身立命、亲亲、立德、立言、多情善感的思想因素。  相似文献

Trying to Include but Supporting Exclusion Instead? Constructing the Roma in Slovak Educational Policies

Based on a social constructivist theoretical framework, this research study examines how the design of proinclusive educational policies and the general public construct the Roma students and parents in Slovakia. For this purpose, data from two selected educational policies and five focus groups conducted in five regions in Slovakia were analyzed. The findings demonstrate that the Roma are constructed negatively as irresponsible dependents and deviants not valuing education and incapable of making wise decisions about their lives. These findings can be considered relevant for policy formulation processes because proinclusive policies may sabotage their own goals if negative social constructions of a certain societal group are embedded in them.  相似文献

THE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS INDICATE THAT ZINC TITANATE CRYSTALS DOPED WITH MAGNESIUM OXIDE GROW WELL AND THE DECOMPOSITION INTO ZN2TIO4 AND TIO2 IS RESTRAINED THROUGH TRADITIONAL SOLID STATE REACTION. BY ADJUSTING MOLAR RATIO OF MGO, BETTER PROPERTIES CAN BE OBTAINED. THE DIELECTRIC PROPERTIES OF THE CERAMICS DOPED WITH 30% MGO( MOLAR PERCENTAGE) SINTERED AT 1 060 ℃ ARE AS FOLLOWS:THE VALUE OF QUALITY FACTOR IS GREATER THAN 20 000(6. 5 GHZ), THE TEMPERATURE COEFFICIENT OF RESONANCE FREQUENCY IS ABOUT 2 × 10-6/℃, THE DIELECTRIC CONSTANT RANGES FROM 18 TO 22. BESIDES, IT IS PROVED THAT HEAT TREATMENT CAN OPTIMIZE MICROSTRUCTURE AND THE VALUE OF QUALITY FACTOR, WHICH INCREASES FROM 23 833.93 TO 47 584.00 AFTER 2 H OF HEAT TREATMENT AT 1 040 ℃.  相似文献
